For those who play trials and fortunate enough not to find these players. Let me explain. Hoarfrost turns your barricade from the standard 'glassy' wall into a wall of crystals. One of their aspects creates a line of crystals with their uppercut melee. The other aspect creates stasis shards when destroy the crystals, and stasis shards grant melee energy. Most of the time, you would run the glacial wall grenade to create even more crystals, therefore creating more stasis shards.
There's four fragments, a weapon trait and a armour mod that makes this build broken. The first fragment grants damage resistance when they stand near an ice crystal. The second grants an refreshable overshield when a stasis shard is picked up. The next reduces grenade cooldown times significantly after destroying stasis crystals. The last causes stasis shards to track to your position. The weapon trait "Collective Action", grants bonus damage on collection elemental pickups, for example a stasis shard. The armour mod "Elemnetal Charge" grants armour charge on elemental pickups, for example a stasis shard. When combined with surge mods, they get additional damage on top of the weapon trait.
So in trials, mostly in three stacks of Hoarfrosts, the team would spam all the abilities at the beginning of the round creating crystals and getting free damage resistance, overshield and damage boosts. Since there's three of them, there's shards for everyone. Remember, melee energy is granted on shard pick ups, they can recycle their abilities and infinitely grant themselves more DR's, OS's and DB's for the rest of the round. Don't forget that destroying crystals boosts the glacial wall recharge rate, more DR's, OS's and DB's.
It's an infinite loop that requires minimal input for game sense and skill. Snipers like Cloudstrike can't even one hit to the head. The Immortal, one of the highest burst DPS weapons, can barely kill one even if you land every shot of the magazine with precision hits using a target lock roll. That's assuming they don't kill you before you unload the magazine. Timmy the Kinderguardian and Kindergartener who is barely 1750 Light could run this build and still be strong enough obliterate in trials. This has been going on since the release of Witch Queen and it has never been addressed.

Probably because the exotic doesn't even have a 1% usage rate for the Titan class and Stasis Titan is the second least used Subclass (Only slightly above Solar Titan at 2% instead of 1.8%) it also requires heavy coordination and messing up can kill it meaning only top teams try to use it. Also it's not the exotics fault it's literally the overshield all this does is make it easier. Decrease the overshields pvp (We all know bungie will obliterate it in pve because y'all pvp players and give less reasons to use Stasis in pve) hp by a bit and change the dr to 5% in pvp and boom it's killed immediately in pvp and nobody will want to touch it with a 100 foot pole.
