Stop making all subclasses feel the same

It used to be souls were exclusive to one half of arc warlocks. Void 3.0 gave us void souls available to all void warlocks. Arc 3.0 gave arc souls to all arc warlocks. And now solar souls were just announced. Everything is starting to feel the same. Elemental drops have the same problem. It started with arc pulses. Then we got stasis shards which felt distinct enough, but soon after we got void breaches and solar sprites. And now there are elemental pickups for everything. Again, it started with stasis lances with very specific spawn requirements. Then we got tangles which were much more integrated into gameplay. And now we have the same things for solar, arc, and void. All of this amounts to the uniqueness to each subclass being lost gameplay-wise. Now the focus seems to be the super and the element itself, not all of the abilities and perks associated with them. I'm all for unifying certain things to make development and balancing easier, but not at the cost of muddying the water.

  • Ark Souls. Offensive personified. They have high killing power when amplified and are designed to get kills themselves. Sort of have an extra gun that shoots while you run. Void Souls. Vampirism Personified. They are not damage dealers, but are their to instead provide buffs. Healing, or the sorts. Solar Soul. Assistance Personified. They look to do less damage then the Ark Soul, but provide assistance in making things easier to kill. By extension, they further synergies with the subclass by providing a debuff, instead of just taking a buff like Ark Souls.
