Genuine question: When I read "bring back X" posts, I'm always asking myself: is it about op missing the past content, or is it about, I'd like to get something different?
Do you miss the haunted forest or do you wish for new stuff? Or maybe a bit of both?
Anyway, I don't think Bungie will bring this back without another reason, as it means porting Mercury skybox and levels to the current engine.
They always tend to tie this kind of effort to a new season or another activity afaics.
And I do think getting previously locked exotics is cool (for those who didn't have them) and we didn't have a reason to get that kind of content with the haunted forest.

I honestly just miss the Haunted Forest, and had more fun running it repeatedly than the haunted lost sectors. Like many Guardians, I would love for something new. But if that is a fevered dream, I would rather Bungie bring back something more enjoyed by the players (I realize this is not every player). I think the HLS wouldn't be so bad if they made all of them haunted, instead of just a few. But then again, we run lost sectors all year long. Slapping a "spooky paint job" on them still feels lackluster. The procedural generation of the HF made each run feel a little different.

Ah I see. I quite about the fact that it would make them unique, and not yet lost sector again.
