The only way to get your name reset is if it violated their policies. Looking at your name, I don’t think it does so the chances of it being changed to the default name is zero. There is no way to contact Bungie directly.

That's not the only reason, though. At least two trans people recently asked to reset their name and the answers they got were different than "can't do nothing". Since "Syd" is a name, the OP can try to go this route. What's more, after seeing that, I strongly believe Bungie should accept people's request for a name reset no matter if their are trans or not, otherwise that would be preferential treatment and it doesn't look good.

We’re not allowed to have personal information in our Bungie Name. If their names didn’t have personal information Bungie wouldn’t reset them. They aren’t given those people special treatment.
