I want Destiny to fail. Failure is the best teacher in the world.

Nah we really want marathon to fail. This would show them that destiny should be the thing that they keep the most focus on and other things get done by the worse devs in the background.

It's all dependent on how the final shape is recieved.
It's all dependent on how the final shape is recieved.
Given the mass layoffs, it probably won’t be good and therefore won’t be well received.
-
That's a bad mindset. Layoffs are a necessary evil in the business world. All the people that got layed off were probably the most unneeded or the most unproductive at the time. Think about it this way community managers got layed off because this community is so toxic no one can fix it, music team got laid off because music for the final shape is done, some of the art team got layed off for the same reason, some of the qs team got lated off because there are always issues and none of them get brought up to the devs. The important people needed for the game to succeed are still there, and hopefully this push back of the final shape is enough time to make the final shape better then it was going to be.

Sounds like you still believe the hype. The mass Pre Order Cancellations is proof Final Shape is already a let down.

Well if masses of the community could realize not buying final shape, uninstalling destiny 2 and playing other games would be the only way to get the change we need, then maybe marathon would fail. But I’ve already seen some non-destiny gooners losing their minds over the No gameplay marathon trailer
-
"Gooner," huh? I had to look that one up and it's now added to my personal lexicon. 😂

It has 20 million views.
-
It has more views on the marathon official account trailer than any other version of the trailer put out on other channels or throw other social media outlets combined. And it had such a drastic difference in view count within days. Bungie botted the views for their official account video
-
It was an add on YouTube and every time someone saw the ad it got a view even if it was skipped. That's the only reason it has that many views, it's an inflated number.

Edited by A_mo: 11/9/2023 12:45:33 PMThen that is probably what everyone does for everything and 20 millions probably isn't too bad. I will say peoples' refusal to let any other game exist until they get what they want out of destiny is interesting. Not sure if they were expecting the "no we will not let that exist!" from so many Destiny players.

The destiny players feel like they are getting shafted. They took too many resources from destiny and moved them to marathon. This led to pvp and some pve aspects feel terrible. Pvp was pretty much untouched for 2-3 years. Why would players want them to succeed for abandoning their only product that is out at the time. Also who is to say they won't do the same thing with marathon when they want to release a new ip. You want the company to continue to care for their product especially if it the only product giving them revenue. You don't care for ur product the consumer won't care for the product either and you see this in the 45% revenue miss.
