If you don't want to include your PSN account in your cross-save setup, then you'll need to unlink the account from your profile.   • Unfortunately, that gives an error code called: "ErrorCannotLoadLinkedCredential" PSN will not delete my PSN account too. That's a whole 'nother issue. At this point, it really requires a Bungie engineer to "rip" the PSN out or force my Cross Save process forward :( My hopes are really low, unfortunately. I have a really beast account on Xbox that I'd love to have on my PC.

  • 1. successfully logged out and logged back in to us.playstation.com 2. I have no option to log out or log in to the Bungie.net "account linking" section. I only have an option to "unlink account" which upon pressing gives a pop-up box which gives the error "ErrorCannonLoadLinkedCredential" 3. I have no way to log out or log in to PSN Here is the entire text of the pop-up: Authentication Error Unlinking has failed because you signed into a different external account than the one you have linked.   • Whatever you do, do not delete the PS account or it will be permanently stuck on your profile. [u]Under no circumstances will Bungie forcefully unlink or remove an account.[/u] To unlink the PS account, you must authenticate the correct login credentials through Playstation's login process. Double-check that you've entered the correct email and password. You can do by using them to log into playstation.com. Refer to Playstation Support if you need assistance with logging in. If you have entered the correct login credentials and still receive an error, try to unlink from the D2 mobile app or a different browser. If that's unsuccessful, you can wait and try again later in case there is a temporary problem with the site. If all else fails, the last option would be to unlink the accounts have access to and put them on a new profile. Please be aware that changing profiles will cause your accounts to lose any emblems you've redeemed by codes or from special promos on your current profile.

  • Yeah... ya see, those are all really bad options... 1. I can authenticate the account. I can log into the account. That's not the problem. 2. I've tried different browsers and I do not use the D2 app. The error is the same when I attempt to unlink. 3. I can't unlink the account to put into a new account. That's the entire issue. This reads more like a canned response than that of a human being. Kinda sucks to have been a Destiny player since 2014 and paid HUNDREDS of dollars to a company only to not be valued when a "feature" doesn't work for me. Really bad look and really bad feel.

  • If you are authenticating the account and are receiving the error message you provided above, then you are not using the correct account. Have you made any changes to the linked PSN account such as a change in email recently? Have you also been able to log in to the PlayStation website with the same credentials and have not received any error messages? Is your account in good standing with PlayStation?

  • I have had only 1 PSN account since I was in college. That account has always been in "good standing" meaning that I have never defaulted on a payment for anything. There is a "security concern" that PSN will not address with me nor will they resolve. There is a thread on Reddit about it. I can still log in to the PSN account on the Playstation website which is bizarre. There are 0 characters associated with my PSN account for Destiny 2, however. I am failing to understand how 100% of the accounted for characters can be in authenticated accounts with 0 issues, but I can not proceed in the cross save process due to a PSN account that is having some sort of issue. Can you help me with that fact pattern?

  • Has PlayStation Support stated that there was a security concern with your account? If so, you would need to address this concern with them, as this could very well be the cause of your issue.

  • They did, and they also explicitly stated that they would not help me with it. Again, I have a post on Reddit about it with the transcript of the chat session. They stated they "would not" not "could not." I'm just so frustrated, Rurouni. There are Trials of the Nine flawless emblems, exotics, and irreplaceable memories in my Xbox file. Now that I don't have an Xbox and only have a PC, I feel really betrayed that I can't have it back despite being told I can have it back.

    If you have a PlayStation account linked to your profile and PlayStation has stated that your account has some sort of restriction on it, then Bungie cannot assist in removing this account from your profile. You would need to continue to work with PlayStation Support regarding this matter. Cross Save requires that all linked accounts be authenticated successfully. If there is some sort of restriction that is placed on any of the accounts, then you would not be able to activate Cross Save.

  • The fix is a SUPER simple if/then statement: "If [ALL CHARACTERS ARE ACCOUNTED FOR] then [PROCEED TO STEP 2]"
