Let me preface this by saying I hate Bungie’s predatory monetization of the game.
But what you’re suggesting essentially equates to Bungie giving away everything in their store for in-game currency.
From a business-perspective that makes zero sense, as it diminishes your income.
Unless they were to compensate by increasing the prices elsewhere (i.e. more monetization of individual pieces of content (think $20 for a GM key or a Seasonal Activity key)
I’d rather see the Eververse get an overhaul.
$5 for an outfit, $2 for a weapon ornament, etc.
Paying $20 for an outfit is insane.
You can but a whole other game for that price. Maybe more than one

However, I believe it would be offset by greater population numbers playing the game longer...and that will also drive profit, but in a more indirect way. This is the future, and Bungie needs to see that. Games like Fortnite and even the new free-to-play arena shooter, The Finals, provide for a way to gain access to in-game currency simply by playing the game. They realize the fact that money is made by population numbers starting higher for longer. The way this makes financial sense is by limiting what you can earn, not limiting what you can buy with it. Bungie's current business model limits what you can buy with in-game currency, and I think it hurts them. Less people playing the game = less people available to buy anything! -
Mate, there’s a lot of things that Bungie needs to see. 😂 I genuinely wonder if there is going to be much of a player base after Final Shape. D2 is old and has had a rough couple of recent years of mismanagement. They might just ride out the 3 episodes, pull the plug if Marathon is making a profit, and come back in a few years with D3

I could see that happening. I hope not, but ya. Destiny 3 is probably a better idea!
