Alright, after combing through all the new lore stuff, I must say! They have seriously outdone themselves with how much trite they can regurgitate all at once! I'm definitely looking forward to the Final Shame now!!! HAHAHAH!

I went through it. Seems like I was right. The Witness people had no reason to blame the Light or the Traveler as a danger and it was their own petty ego that caused the division and genocide. Explaining retcons and filling gaps, very slimy to charge extra to get those and cowardly to hide it like that to boot. The Vex stuff was the only interesting stuff. Either the Vex salvaged their left behind super advanced technology, to explain their greater achievements like making throneworld spaces and how the Minds seem so much more capable. Or The Vex are what became of that left behind technology, possibly even a faction of Precursors who diverged. Which could be used to give them some personality in their episode.

At least if we’re still on the point that Unveiling shows us that they were the first race. I could see that the Vex were a Precursor creation based on the mentions of “prediction engines” and “glass-minds”. Maybe they’re trying to disguise this super serious twist by not mentioning actual robots walking around.

I’m just thinking of that old post from pre-D1, doubtful anyone there remembers it lol Making them a creation would be lazy but an easier way to tie them off. So 50/50 chance they try something silly. Haha

I wouldn’t think the Vex being a direct creation of the Precursors would be lazy right off the bat. For that kind of stuff, it’s all in the execution, and Bungo’s loooong overdue (and practically incapable) to pull off a feat like THAT well! HAH!

Apparently the concept of the Final Shape was actually a Precursor belief, and there were factions in their society that had different interpretations about what it’s supposed to be, so you get characters like these two debating what it’s all about!

Lore book with Vex origin story (don't remember what it was called) was very untrustworthy, as it was supposedly written by the Darkness before the universe was created.

It was written by the Witness and the only propaganda in it are the opinions of it posing as the Winnower arguing to us about it being right and the Gardner wrong. Everything else is an origin story. Origin for our cosmos, the larger multiverse, the creator entity, paracausality, explaining how Dark and Light are part of the fabric of the cosmos and the Vex. Without Unveiling we don’t have any of that going into the culmination of all those aspects (except the vex) So even from a basic storytelling view, it’s clear the book is mostly legit in those areas. So when you guys don’t like the source you toss it all out? Even when it’s obviously the only lore supplying an origin for key things? I don’t understand the thinking behind that.
