I’m sorry, no. This is extremely full of spinfoil theories. I would like to ask that you back this up with evidence because I do not see any reason to believe this theory. It doesn’t make sense. There were many Zavala’s before Zavala. So clarify. And Assassin? Cayde? Back it up. No congruence, Era

This Zavala, our Zavala in this instance. Cayde's Assignment As an Exo "Things are even weirder now, Ace. This is my fourth assignment, and I am kind of losing touch with what came before this whole Exo thing and what's a leftover fragment from another tour." — Cayde's journal Upon becoming an Exo, Cayde spent some amount of time in the Eventide colony on Europa, at one point coming across Micah Abram as the boy tried to sneak into Bray Exoscience; Cayde had flashbacks of the encounter even after his five subsequent resets. He continued to write in his journal as a means of preserving his memories. As many Exos, he resented the need for resets and in his diary logs promised Ace never to let Clovis Bray track him down when he finally finds his family. At some point he was assigned as a security officer to the Ishtar Collective, where his job was to look after Dr. Maya Sundaresh. Though he wished to get to know her better, she barely noticed him. Cayde witnessed the Collapse, remembering being restrained by a shadowy creature on a destroyed world. It is unclear whether that was the moment of his death or not. Mementos from the Wild Cayde's Treasure Island Book Excerpt from Treasure Island: "No She doesn't know me at all, doesn't even recognize my face even though I've been standing over her shoulder for months. I'm nothing more than a fixture, a required imposition. An unwanted necessity. I'm no egghead. Never was. Just like now, back then I was on a need to know basis, and the only thing I need to know is that nothing and nobody gets through that door and past me without at least three layers of security clearance and a whole lot of muscle. Still. I think about saying something. Saying anything. In a second my mind rifles through a trillion possibilities. But she's already turned back to her work. I shuffle my feet, straighten my back, and return to mine". That changed as Cayde began to understand her research; eventually joining her echo program... defying and betraying Clovis. To add: If you read the Cayde lore... he worked for Clovis, it implies Bray reset his Exo's to avoid exposure... scrutiny... loyalty complications. Cayde had nightmares about those hazy misdeeds... What do you think he had his chief security officer doing for those implied black ops? Cayde wasn't petting puppies. He might have killed that kid. I'm extrapolating... but Clovis is a bad guy, that does bad guy stuff. His chief security officer [Cayde 1-6] who he kept resetting was doing bad stuff. That's not a Theory. The theory relates to after. Because obviously Cayde hated the resets and the control Clovis had over him. He became a good guy... he stuck with Maya. When she betrayed Clovis... Cayde did not intervene. He ended up the Captain of an Echo protocol ship, the Exodus Black... and then joined the Vanguard. All that is true... not speculation. His purpose... that's the "theory" part. What the Exodus Black was for? What were Cayde's directives... what was his mission? To fail. Sacrifice.

So Maya wanted Cayde to kill Zavala. Despite that Zavala wasn’t known to anyone in Sol until many years post Collapse. And Maya and Cayde were separated pre-collapse. Leaving a great big ole hole. How did Maya know about Zavala? How did she order Cayde to kill him? What expectation was there that a reborn Cayde could or would remember the order? Sounds like made up crap to me 🤣 And where is it said he was captain of a exodus ship?

Maya knows this is an instance of special relativity... a simulation of the Witch Queen. She was made privy to it by Subject 12. D2 Vanilla is how we know Cayde's ship was the Exodus Black. And again, I don't think Maya wanted Cayde to do it because she and Chioma disagreed with Praeydth. But from his perspective destroying the Vanguard as it served Savathun's tribute in siphoning power away from the Witness... would seem to be the course of action. That's IF we could win... IF there IS an apodictic truth. But Maya learned... that we can't win... BUT if life is to have a chance... if the light is ever going to break through... It matters how we lose. In fact, she learned from subject 12 that the only instances where we have a shot... is IF Savathun takes over. So, that's why she helped... submitted to the darkness and sacrificed herself. That's why Chioma was tortured by it, but did not intervene... she just let it happen. But they needed Praeydth, they needed Soteria... and so she went along with directives as outlined in the AI's Soteria Echo protocols. Cayde was a good candidate... but she knew he would fail, while being the catalyst for exposing Mara Sov. That's my theory. You know when I believe the moment will be when we definitively find out about Mara? "How's your sister"? When we find out exactly why Cayde said that.

If this is an instance designed by the WQ, then nothing here matters. Simulations exist within a larger reality, making this whole simulation pointless. Which makes the whole chain of events of the game meaningless. How did subject 12 know this and where did he say it? Why would Maya care about a simulation? If she’s a digital construct, why would she subject herself or anyone to anything? How is Soteria important in a simulation? How does any of this matter when it’s a simulation? What was the plan and how was it meant to make a difference? You barely have the framework for this idea much less anything of substance. Kinda running out of time. You should of proposed this five years ago. Cause then you could argue we come out of it and do something in the larger reality and there would be enough unknown content to suggest it happens there. But seeing as this is the close, it’s 100% horsepoo. Your clever idea is years late Hahaha

  • Yes, it does matter. We're meant to break the cycle... that's the purpose of all of it. That's our Destiny. There is no light here. Ordinatio Veritas.

  • According to you, we are just 1s and 0s in a simulation. How does that have any bearing on the real reality? If she has ultimate power, what is she learning from the simulation that can affect her real world? How is this simulation a reflection of her reality? You didn’t answer anything, just repeated yourself.

What f%#!ing cycle is he even talking about??? You know what the REAL stupid part could be, Lasombra? If Bungo goes ahead and straight up rips off Elric one-to-one with universe resets, he's probably going to claim he actually was right the whole time, even if nothing remotely points to it! HAHAHAH!

And? Even if your crackpipe bullcrap is true, what is even the POINT of doing any of it? Looks like Destiny’s crap story is a lose-lose situation! HAHAHAH!

  • He’s just talking spinfoil. Their ideas always start in the middle, that’s how you know it’s garbage. Nah, it’ll be close to what I’ve said. All I really got wrong was the location.

  • The two faced god who sacrifices herself to save the cosmos. The OG storyline was the Ulan-Tan ending, sacrificing paracausal power itself. As it came directly from the Gardner. But they changed it to make the power a cosmic law, separate from the Gardner. This allows her to die, be sealed away or discard her personal power over the cosmos and the story can keep going.
