• Nah encounter design change is long overdue. Well doesn't need a nerf. Bungie needs to get more creative than their typical stand still while everything in the universe bombards you. People like you cheering this are the real issue.

  • Nah it doesn't bungie needs to change encounter designs .. nerfing well doesn't fix the problem that their encounter designs are the issue. Only idiots cheer for nerfs.

Nope it doesn't need to be hit. Encounter design needs to be changed. You clowns don't know what you want. You cheer for this bs than in 3 months you same clowns come here crying about content being too hard. The game forces us to stand still while everything bombards us.. You're not smart if you think the solution is nerfing well

  • Nah, im fine with harder content. The casuals are gonna be crying much more than anyone about it. Well needs a nerf. And its happening whether the casual babies like it or not.

  • And if they gave warlocks something in return, it'd be fine, but this is a blanket nerf with no upside. I'd rather be locked to a Well than to play second or third fiddle in every category, which is what warlocks will be doing without well. Titans and Hunters have much better DPS options already, and with titan bubble almost certainly becoming the new best support super, that gives warlocks nothing of unique value compared to the other subclasses. Calling for nerfs is fine and all, but not thinking of the long term ramifications is why this game is spiraling. I can't think of a less capable raid team than 6 warlocks after the final shape launches.

  • Bubble is supreme in its dome-shaped glory.

  •
Bubble is supreme in its dome-shaped glory.
It will be, and that sucks. Imagine being excited to go back to an 10 year old damage strat like it's new and exciting. Yeesh.

  • As a void titan main with doomfangs it is my goal to drop a bubble every 2 minutes if I can. As a side note the Helm of Saint-14 overshield should be on base bubble and that exotic should be made to do something useful.

  • I find it best when doing rocket DPS to use reloading as a pacer. Step out fire, step in reload, repeat. You can also do it by jumping out the top of bubble. Bubble is honestly best when you can drop it on the boss to use close range weapons.

I'm talking about the blueberries.

  • Was making a generalized statement. Because some DPS rockets rely have more than one rocket in the chamber using bubble can mess up the pacing with those ones. It is also sad bubble works poorly for non-rocket DPS.

The buff lasts for longer than bait and switch, so you can proc the first two weapons, step in and back out of the bubble while swapping to heavy, and go to down with your linear. I've personally seen bubble used for sword DPS on Riven and Crota. It's way more usable than people make it sound

  • In terms of lesser effectiveness in damage phases for something like a machinegun each time you step into bubble to not die instead doing it to reload you lose out on damage. This is if your squad is all huddled up in a bubble to stay alive during damage. Bubble is a much more functional damage buff than well if you have to move during damage or create a safe space. But with well you don't have to take cover to stay alive an only lose out on damage when you reload.

But with well you don't have to take cover to stay alive an only lose out on damage when you reload.
Machine guns aren't DPS meta, so if you're talking about efficiency, you've already taken a step backwards by being on the wrong weapons architype. In more than half of situations it doesn't matter. Riven, Shuro Chi, Taniks, Atraks, Crota, Caretaker, Rhulk, Morgeth, Kalli, planets in RoN, and several others (both GoS bosses) either don't cause damage (so you never nees to go back in the bubble), are too short of a damage phase, require guardian movement, which benefits bubble anyway since you take the buff with you, or they use swords so you never leave the bubble and therefore can't die. Only a few boss fights will kill you without a well of you don't move. Nez in Root, Atheon on master, Ir Yut (add spam), and a couple others. The benefit of Well is that only one person has to run it to get healing and buff and you can lay it right where you want to do DPS. It's the easier solution but not the better one. Both are usable most of the time, both buff by the same amount. The difference is that titans have t crash or burning maul (with exotics) and warlocks don't. So, for optimal super damage, Warlock being on well makes the most sense. Take away well and now a titan has to leave a powerful DPS super to be buff and warlock switches to a less effective DPS super. It's a lose lose for literally the entire fireteam to do it that way, so warlock stays on well. This is a problem with Bungie not giving warlocks anything other than Well and a bunch of add clear builds. The company just refuses to give warlocks any other endgame DPS utility.

Makes no sense to me that warlocks didn't get their own version of star eater scales or synthoceps. They have exotics to boost their strand, arc, solar, and stasis supers but they mainly boost functionality and not flat damage. What neutral warlock exotic would benefit most from adding a super damage buff to it. Verity or battle harmony are the main contenders for an added buff in my eyes.

The reason well is so ubiquitous is because everything else is so much worse, not because Well is that much better. The answer was, is, and always will be to buff the rest of the warlock kit to be competitive in the types of situations where Well is good, thereby giving them extra options. Then it's optional whether to go with well or bubble, since you're not losing DPS either way. But no, that's too simple. Gotta nerf well and make bubble the de facto solution. Lame.
