I had that feeling too. Like that the "episodes" that are coming are just a buffer zone while another title is being worked on. They said those stories will be disjointed and can be played in any order. Sounds super casual to me. However, it seems pretty impossible to me that if there was a D3 in development, that someone hasnt squealed about it already. I agree though, the return of some of these weapons is very suspicious.

 • I feel like this has become a recent thing since Barrett was moved to executive creative director instead of game director for Marathon. Possibly a new creative vision for the Destiny franchise. Probably just me being weird but ITL just has so many parallels to the final year of D1.

 • Well it sounded like, initially, that they replaced Barrett with a guy that worked on CS? after the test session they had with Marathon wasn't received well. My take was they replaced him because under his lead people didn't like it, and decided to go with someone from another very successful game. ( I know CS is popular but Ive never played it) You could be right though. Barrett was good for Destiny.

 • Yeah, that's why he got replaced. But he's an RPG guy at heart judging from his personal posts and his work with Destiny. After all his hard work on D1, it'd be a crime to toss him away. I always got the vibe he got booted from Destiny because he was more well liked than some of the other shall we say..... rock star names associated with Destiny. But that is purely speculation and in no way can I back that up. So many conclusions to draw from the timing of everything and I'm probably 100% wrong. It's just fun to theorize
