One of my favorite episodes is 'Almost Got 'Im' and 'Mask of the Phantasm' is awesome. I don't know the answers to your questions off the top of my head but if you have the streaming service 'tubi,' you can find at least half a dozen animated Batman movies there (unless they removed them since the last time I checked).

*recoils back at the mention of streaming services, while hissing at you* I do not use those abominable things! I will be purchasing the show directly! I am offended you would even recommend I do such a thing! I have plenty of animated Batman movies, though. None of the ones I have are connected to The Animated Series, though, and I'm not enough of a Batman fan to actually go and watch a bunch of random movies. If I'm being totally honest, I'm actually more excited for Batman Beyond than I am TAS. I think the concept of an old Bruce Wayne who's unable to be Batman anymore being the one behind the scenes as we have "What if Spiderman was Batman" being the guy on the front lines sounds really fun. :p

  • If it's any comfort, 'tubi' is a free streaming service but there are commercials so there's that. 'Batman Beyond' was a great series too, I won't take anything away from it. Another episode I recall liking in The Animated Series is 'Tyger, Tyger' and the episodes with the Man-Bat were pretty good, too. I just really liked the rogue's gallery from the show and how so many were featured. Plus, Mark Hamill as the voice of The Joker and the introduction of Harley Quinn...........I mean c'mon, that should sell it all by itself.

  • *hisses at Tubi* These things could maybe be selling points, but I literally know nothing about the show aside from a few very specific things. Do you know Overly Sarcastic Productions on YouTube? They did a big Detail Diatribe of Batman, and more specifically, Batman: TAS & Batman Beyond. They really talked this Batman up as the best Batman, so I'm already sold on the show, no need to try and sell me on it. I also just finished up Ben 10: Alien Force, which was $25 bucks a season, meanwhile I can get all 4 seasons of Batman: TAS for only $40, so I'm already sold on it from a price standpoint too! (hopefully the other series have similarly good deals!) I'm actually really excited to see that last episode of Justice League: Unlimited, even though I sort of already know the plot? Still, I think it's a really big defining scene for Batman. I think OSP actually even said at one point "Is your version of Batman willing to sit down and try to comfort a crying girl on a swingset. If the answer is no, that's not Batman, that's just the Punisher in a bat suit!", and this is a sentiment I totally agree with. In any case, I'll most certainly be picking up TAS, I'm mostly just wondering about what movies are attached since apparently Mask of the Phantasm doesn't come with.

  • I've watched both 'Justice League' and 'Justice League: Unlimited' and both of those were good series as well. I'd definitely recommend them. They're both on Netflix (last I checked) but it's been made abundantly clear what your feelings on streaming is so we'll just disregard that point, lol.

  • I'll admit, I've never been all that big on the Justice League, so watching the Justice League shows is a bit more of a stretch for me. Still, assuming I'm not totally fed up with these superheroes by then (which for the record is a totally realistic possibility), I'm willing to give it a go. As a side note, on the topic of DC superhero shows, I'm just reminded of Teen Titans--which was amazing--but it's also kind of funny because even though Robin is the leader of the Teen Titans, they went out of their way to never mention Batman. There's this really funny scene, where Slade is talking to Robin, and says something like "I'll be like a father to you." and Robin says something like "I already have a father.", and then there's a scene transition using bats, and I believe the following scene takes place next to a big glowing sign that says "Wayne", but, like, they never say the word "Batman" once. Which is funny.

  • The thing about 'Justice League' and 'Unlimited' that I both liked and at the same time didn't entirely care for is just how many members there are. Some I'd never even heard of and will likely never hear about again but at least it gives the show a bit of variety by not focusing solely on the core members everyone knows. I liked 'Teen Titans,' but I don't think I saw the entire series and simply can't bring myself to watch 'Teen Titans: Go!' It just doesn't appeal to me, maybe because of the silliness of it.

  • We don't talk about Teen Titans Go! Teen Titans Go! is an abomination. I'm talking about the old Teen Titans show. That one was great. I'd recommend it. Rewatched it last year, I think, maybe two years ago, and it was still good. There are a few dumb moments, but nothing that ruins the experience. I don't know which one it was, but yeah, I do know there are a lot of members. Namely, I've seen that intro before, where it's just the horizon with all the members standing there silhouetted and whatnot. I haven't seen the show to know whether or not it's overwhelming, but yeah, it definitely seems like a ton. I think my issue with the Justice League (the organization, not the show) is just that the heroes kinda seem more interesting on their own, don't they? Like, superhero teams can be fun, but I feel like the heroes have to be built to be on a team in the first place. When you take a bunch of heroes who were originally mean to be solo heroes, and stick them on a team, I find that nine times out of ten they were more interesting solo. But, I also haven't actually seen Justice League, so, maybe my opinion will change.

  • From what I remember of both series, although the stories are about members of the JL there are plenty of episodes that are character specific and don't involve the entire League.

  • Well, of course. That's going to happen with any team. But, from my understanding, the central cast is something like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Hawk Girl, and Green Lantern maybe? I'm sure they're going to appear in at least most of the episodes. Nothing about any of this is an automatic "this sucks" kind of thing, but I've just always found the heroes in the Justice League to be more interesting on their own than they are in the Justice League. Of course, the irony here is all my favorite superheroes are teams. :p Speaking of running solo, I have to admit I'm curious to watch the Superman show. I used to be a big Superman hater, but more recently--once again due to convincing from OSP--he's seemed a lot more interesting. It'll be interesting to see if I just think he's interesting in concept now, or if I'll actually enjoy watching a Superman show.

  • I don't think I've watched any of the 'Superman' series now that I think about it; maybe I'll see what I have available and check them out.
