You don’t have to watch Phantasm if you don’t want. Or if you do, you can whenever. It’s like an origin exploration thing. There’s also Mystery of the Batwoman. These are like long form episodes and the series is mostly episodic with some small progression (I don’t remember many big story arcs.) I would watch BTAS, then the adventures with Robin because they actually do have the different robins and that development (not Jason or Damien), if you want maybe watch Superman’s series before then watching “& Superman”, that led to some artstyle changes for BTAS I think. Static Shock is connected to it. Dunno where in the timeline though. More on the JL side of things I think. then JL and JLU, though I never really saw them in the same universe cause I watched JL/U first and the scale is just different. (Also that art style change, really separated it for me. it’s just weird thinking of the two shows as the same universe.)
Never really liked JLU because it just got so big and so many side heroes they don’t touch upon. *I’m just not into small teams turning into big organizations. Also the intro sucks. JL intro> Still an awesome show though.
I also see Beyond as a separate/alternate universes. Mostly cause of the Joker Returns movie. And the fact I never watched Beyond. Saw the first few episodes of JL recently (sis was rewatching on Netflix.) and just got hit with heavy nostalgia. That space trial scene is like some sorta core memory for some reason. Essentially I just separate the shows into 3 chunks. -BTAS (including the Superman show and crossover show) (feels like its own thing) -JL/U (you don’t need to watch BTAS to understand.) -Beyond (you prolly need to see the other two to understand whats in this timeline.)
I wrote and edited this back n forth while doing something else so I have no idea if it’s coherent.
• Ah, I suppose I may not have been totally clear. I'm perfectly aware that all of these shows can be watched on their own, and that I won't be, like, confused or anything if I watch them in the wrong order or anything. They're just, like, superhero shows. I'm not saying "Do I need to watch Superman: TAS to understand Justice League?" or anything like that. Like, Batman Beyond is perfectly watchable all on its own I'm pretty sure, but the experience is probably enhanced by watching Batman: TAS because you get to see who this Batman was before he was forced to retire. On that note, Batman Beyond is not an alternate universe/timeline to all these shows. It is the actual future. Justice League: Unlimited acknowledges this pretty directly. I can't really tell you any more than that, because I haven't watched them yet, but I'd recommend going onto YouTube and watching Overly Sarcastic Productions' Detail Diatribe on "Is Batman a curse or a choice?". That's a big reason I decided to pick up Batman: TAS--it's a very good video. "& Superman"? I'm assuming that means "Batman & Superman"? Never heard of this one.

 •
On that note,
Oh yea, I know, I just didn’t watch it and the Batman there and in BTAS and JL feel like different characters in a way. it’s hard to explain. *nvm it’s easier to explain now that I learned BB was made before the JL series. The reason they feel disjointed to me is cause, I guess they basically are, and they miss the developments JL brought.
"& Superman"? I'm assuming that means "Batman & Superman"? Never heard of this one.
Yeah it’s after Adventures of Batman and Robin and when the art style changes to match the Superman show (STAS) I’d watch STAS before B&S to get a feel of that too.

 • Hm.. There are more shows connected here than I thought. I don't know if I can handle that much superhero stuff. I may just do Batman, Superman, Justice Leage, JLU, and Beyond. Even that seems like potentially too much superhero stuff. :p

 • It shouldn’t be too bad. The whole &robin/&superman stuff are technically grouped under BTAS anyways (at least Netflix-wise)

 • Oh, in that case I might already have them. I just bought Batman: The Complete Animated Series on iTunes. It was 4 seasons for $40, which is a steal. Like, for context, in case you're not familiar with the usual pricings on these things, before this I just watched Ben 10 and Ben 10: Alien Force, which were $25 per season, four seasons each. It was just under $200 monies (under because the final season of AF was only $15), and I feel like Batman: TAS also has more episodes (though I'm not gonna bother counting) in addition to only being about 25% as much. I'm not a huge superhero guy, so depending on how big these other shows are, I could very easily get sick of it. I've already got 100 episodes of Batman here!
