Barrels and mags rarely ever matter.
I almost never look at them unless I need something specific like spike nades or impact casing. The stats are nice but on most weapons the third and fourth column are what actually matters.

I've never cared, and still performed perfectly fine. Like, obviously between two identical rolls in slot 3 and 4, I'd prefer the one with the better barrel and mags, but it's just not nearly as impactful.

Barrels and mags do make a significant difference to the guns feel on console.

I played on console up until beyond light and still rarely noticed. Like, dont get me wrong, it helps, but I don't think you're gonna throw away a roll with the exact perks you are looking for in the third and fourth column just because they dont have your preferred barrel and mag. I don't think the opposite is true though. If you get a gun with the perfect mag and barrel, but neither third nor fourth column are what you're looking for, there's a good 99% chance you are sharding that roll.
