Coulda swore I may have responded to this, but either:
Tyranny
Loved the game and love the story, and maybe a *slightly* more modern remaster would give me much joy. Perhaps a few new endings, but if that edges on remake, then so be it. I'll be honest, most of the issues with Tyranny just come from the endgame's story feeling rushed.
or, a much more obvious one:
Fallout: New Vegas
having beat the game 3 or 4 times, notwithstanding multiple abandoned playthroughs, I am still not exactly a superfan of FNV, but if I could imagine the story of FNV with all of it's wonderful RPG features put into a truly modern game with actually good gunplay, I may just die. I imagine FNV would mimic CP2077 as opposed to it's actual modern counterpart, Starfield, as Starfield is -blam!- and it's game design is -blam!- and it's characters are -blam!- and every time I think about it I get more sad. Moving on, the Story of FNV with the high-quality gunplay of CP2077, intricate character animation, and wonderfully realistic graphics seems ideal.

Hot take: Fallout: New Vegas gunplay > Fallout 4 gunplay. I’m not well versed enough in shooty shooty pew pew games to know exactly what it is, but I think New Vegas feels way better. And if they touch my HUD and turn it into that garbage from 4, then this hypothetical remaster would unequivocally be the worst version of the game.
-
Not much of a hot take. Fallout 4 is generally a garbage dump with the occasional antique dotted about. FNV is an antique shop with mostly worthwhile if dusty objects, with a few pieces rusted due to neglect.
-
Most people would certainly agree NV is better, but from what I’ve seen most people do prefer the gunplay of 4. I like the feel of NV more than most shooters, honestly.
-
Well 4’s gunplay is more like Call of Duty and the game is generally geared towards permanently having something to shoot at. NV has guns sure, but the way they’re implemented isn’t the same. I do prefer 4’s weapon mod and junk system though, in NV it seemed really tacked-on.
-
Tbh, I forgot New Vegas even had a mod system. But now that you mention it I do remember giving my Laser Rifle a scope. :p I don't really remember how 4's worked all that well, though. As someone who does not like CoD, that may explain why Fallout 4's gunplay did not feel very good.
-
I totally agree, I strongly dislike modern Bethesda gunplay, and FNV had great gunplay that still holds up, but I usually add some mods in the end to modernize some features, add some more guns, and make guns a little more interesting.
-
FNV but in the unreal 5 engine, now I like the sound of that! I heard a rumour they were working on an updated version to coincide with the tv series release, like Skyrim Special Edition but for FNV, but that wouldn’t exactly fix the gunplay. Then again the PC version already has mods to fix pretty much everything anyway.

The main idea of my "remaster" is implementing some of my fav mod features and QoL things that are just not present in vanilla FNV. I'd also love a wider selection of guns, and a combination of modern and FNV/F3's power armor, where it feels like a tank and is very cool to run around in, but isn't reliant on batteries or whatever I've seen in F4+
