I consider the $200 I gave them back in 2014 a loss…and an education. I’m glad that I didn’t give them any more of my money. What they’ve done really is disgraceful.

  • Okies, some of the smartest money I've ever spent. Some people spend 400+ a month on coffee alone. Pennies per day to play this game if you spend 200 per year, and it doesn't cost that much. It's not pay-to-win... if you play the above game, you're a sucker, you have no chance.

If that’s what you want to think about a game that after 10 years and God-Only-Knows-How-Many-Millions of dollars? ($590 million. I had to Google it….that’s enough for 6 AAA games.) …and there is still not a complete playable version of the game? Okay….. But you do know that most of that money went into people’s pockets and not into developing the game? The people who funded that game were investors. Not consumers…and they got taken advantage of regardless of which POV you take.

Pennies a day, for a thousands of hrs of fun and entertainment... It's a value. As opposed to SC where the developers hide the whale transactions to deceive their other players into believing there's a path for them... when there isn't. You can buy a Bugatti cupholder, go to the car show... but the Devs of SC don't care about their regular players... you have no shot in the race. And they hid that, they accepted crowdsource funding for a decade, used those players; essentially had them pay to playtest a game that was never for them. This game you spend 150 a year and you're set. That's cheap AF. Regular content, tuning... a game that continues to evolve and get better. Feels awesome... looks awesome... sounds awesome. Fun solo or with friends.

I’m saying that what Star Citizen devs did was disgraceful. I gave them $200 in crowdsourcing funds in 2014 and see that money as a loss…and an education in being defrauded.

  • See the edit. I finally figured out that you thought I was criticizing Destiny…and I thought your post was defending money spent on SC. We are both taking Star Citizen for a drag. Ten years and enough money to fund 4-6 AAA games…and there still is no full version of the game yet. Thieves….

  • The post was satire. The reason I made it was because on these forums the SC engine was getting so much hype... and being used against D2 and the Tiger engine as an example. Then a few months later (at the time of this post) this monetization scheme was exposed. If you play SC, you're paying to go see a luxury car show.

If you gave them money, you were participating in a Ponzi scheme. Over half a billion dollars and no full game yet…and no accountability either.
