Isn't the shiny version just the 'I was there' version??
All the good stuff can still drop post ITL but won't drop as shiny, at that time.

Not necessarily!! Have a look at my titan who has pre-masterworked gear equipped! One has single perks, and the ornament. One has double perks, and the ornament. One has single perks, with no ornament. I've had non-masterworked gear drop with ornament, but never needed to keep it!

The shiny variants always come with double perks in each column unless it was rewarded from Arcite 99-40 after completing the Brave weapon quests. -
I'll need to check a few more drops, possibly getting confused with brave engram drops.... however I'm still convinced, and pretty sure that's what bungie said in the stream.
