Why punish people leaving? Not everyone can sit through 50 waves all the time for any reason
Better let people leave individually if things require that player to leave and add better incentive to finish 50 waves

If you can't sit through all 50 waves then don't queue up the 50 wave version. Stick to the 10 wave version.

Even if something unexpected happened? You can't tell what will happen during your 50 waves session, either bungie's server acting up to your loved one is in critical condition, you can't tell what will happen

Obviously you can't predict the future. But if you know for sure you don't have time to do 50 waves then don't queue the 50 wave version. As for bungies servers I haven't had a single issue so it might be your connection if you're getting booted frequently. Ideally you should only queue it when you are ready to commit to 50 waves and have the time to do so. Again if life pops up during your run obviously prioritize that, this is just a game.

And why punish someone for something unexpected? Not getting the drops from later waves is already a punishment for them

The suspension would be like the crucible ones, it only kicks in if you are leaving back to back. It wouldn't be "oh you left early once here's a 30min suspension". It'd be "you left 3 within the span of 30min-1hour, here's a 30min suspension". Then if they keep getting the suspension it'll lock you out for the week like comp. If something unexpected with a family member or something else is happening frequently enough that you get a suspension then the game probably shouldn't be your main focus.

Considering how many times people get suspended for getting booted mid game from bungie's error codes, I don't believe them at all
