If ppl stop crying wolf when they get outplayed or provide video evidence, cheating allegations would be taken more seriously. Also, that specifically sounds like really bad lag.

  • the only way to report with video clips is through the bungie report a suspected cheater form. i have used this quite often. there is one player i can across a while ago that used heavy ammo in the first 40 seconds of a QP match got the clip and reported, i still come across this player from time to time, it is a joke sometimes. but i think the best one i came across was a titan using a nova bomb. took 3 months for them to get the ban hammer.

You can take a video clip and link it. I'm not sure if that runs afoul of the name and shame, though I bet it wouldn't if you put the effort into bluring the name. Either why providing video evidence is possible even here. And would get less eye rolls for it I'm not referring to reports but when ppl come here to whine.

  • The report a suspected cheater form is not shared with other players and only bungie see that. It doesn't have anything to do with the terms of service, and the name and shame section. All the tos is is to stop you from blasting someone in the forums for cheating. I do see why but if bungie aren't going to address cheaters quickly then there is no point in playing pvp imo.

  • My comment is not in reference to reporting it to bungie but coming here to the forums and whining about cheaters effectively to other ppl. Which is often met with skepticism due to the over representation of calling ppl who probably actually aren't cheating, cheaters. It may run afoul of name and shame because posting video evidence in the forum (here) on order to prove you did face a player to dispell the general skepticism of the community would natural include the player in questions bumgke name. If they were using the report function we would never see it, yet ppl still make posts about it with 0 evidence amd expect us to take it at face value. Especially considering those kinds posts are disproportionately made by bad players.

  • I had 3 that I called out and Bungie thanked me for reporting them. Most of the time I just play on, it is what it is and will never go away, better to just move on to something else if its blatant, I think. Most outrageous moment was in Gambit, as soon as the game started, he somehow was able to Nova bomb everyone - twice in 2 minutes. Lol, our entire team quit of course, craziest thing I have ever seen.

Yeah, definitely the best way to report. I've heard ppl have good success from video reports. My original comment is just that ppl tend to come here and complain about ostensible cheaters and expect everyone to take them at face value I'm not sure if I'd be like, "Really, man? Cheating in gambit" or like "nah its gambit I don't want to be here either"
