You know why I like it? It helps detect people using macros, scripts, and various tools to mitigate their recoil. I like it because it reminds me of real marksmanship, now just let us switch shoulders. I like it because it gives identity to the weapon beyond its perk set and origin trait. That's why I like it. Why I don't like it. The information is obtuse. Every weapon that has it, should be able to be tuned, but they aren't. Example Recluse that has a right yaw at 100 base recoil. So if those 2 things are remedied, I'm for it. Surface the yaw stat, make sure the recoil stat on most weapons allows for them to be tuned.

  • I watched the video you linked in another post. Adjusted some of my most used guns. IKELOS SMG I crafted has a “?” pattern.Weird lol.

Recoil Explained credit: Maven Let me talk about the nuances a little bit. 95 used to Plum Dinger... Plum Bobber, Plum "Center". The Plum line is the vertical line through the target, Dinger, Bobber... "Center" is the line as extends out from your barrel... but it's not a line, it's a cone... that's how projectile physics work in this game. So, the center point of the bottom of the cones where the tip starts at your barrel =<| The equal sign is your barrel... the cone, the plum line using the characters above. The reason that they changed the paradigm from 95 to 85 for Plum Center was for Deterministic Recoil... which allows for you to tune the weapon right or left no matter the yaw... so 86-94... if the gun started at 85 with a deterministic left or right lead. If it was at 95, you couldn't do that. Yaw... the lead, the twisting of the barrel along the yaw line. That simple graphic where = is the barrel. =|<| So, the barrel... the yaw line is at the tip of the barrel. The easiest way to conceptualize it is if you put wings on the barrel... twisting the barrel by dropping/raising either the right or left wing tip on that vertical yaw line with the tip of the barrel as the axis point =•|<| imagine that first line intersects the axis point at the tip of the barrel =• That's yaw. So, in the case of guns with Deterministic Recoil you tune the recoil stat to balance the shot pattern respective the deterministic yaw & recoil of the weapon. That's some nuance for the vid above you mentioned. It's 85 Plum Center for weapons without Deterministic Recoil... and then dependent on the direction lead/yaw of guns with deterministic recoil relative to 85. So a gun with 85... that has a right yaw, you're aiming for 90-94 to tune the gun left to Plum Dinger/Center. 😇 👍💠

  • It does need to be reigned in and refined a bit, theres little reason my old and new igneous play fairly differently - not even close to being good at PvP but the difference between my old one with CB and my reprised one with CB is night and day. Can see why if it was just new weapons that had it, but for reprisals to also have it with no way to get older ones is a bit weird

  • that's so crazy you might just be right. maybe that's WHY they put in deterministic recoil. to catch people.

  • Here's what I know... no matter how practiced you are, how refined your muscle memory is... your shot pattern will have markers for that deterministic recoil. Your mitigation of that should match your tuning in-game... the barrel, your mods, etc. If it doesn't, if your shot pattern defies that? Probably, some automation at play. Even if you're really good, no one is 100% consistent in their shot discipline. That's how Deterministic Recoil can "help" to identify cheaters.

  • that's my point. or they can put in the same pattern to completely negate the recoil.

However, it is a new system... and the information isn't readily available currently to players. If they fix that I think it could be good for the game. Some people like how Recluse feels... different guns for different people, that's partially what the "identity" of a weapon is about, imo. I prefer a Beretta over its Glock counterpart... it's true in real life too.

  • I prefer old recluse. It is what it is.

  • Me too, I don't like that you can't tune it either.
