Its pretty foolish of this company to be so absent that basic info needs to be sourced from 3rd party apps, to really understand exactly what is going on. Its lazy, careless development.
Its just common sense to build the game to fully explain exactly what everything does in game, while keeping it simple enough to explain within a sentence or two, what you're getting with any given perk. That's what development is, just as much as building.
Its not hard to inform players on the perk itself "30% damage boost for 5 seconds" or something to that effect in description.

I don't disagree. However in fairness to Bungie - this is common practice across the game industry. For instance I ran for years Elite: Dangerous as main game and it was literally unplayable without 3rd party player-based app/website support.
-
Alot of heavy criticisms I've had over the years are things prevalent in alot of the industry, this is true. It especially sucks knowing old Bungie. They were awesome. They knew what it was about. Nobody really does anymore though.

Not according to Datto bud
-
Oh no, a crossdressing egotist has the popular opinion? Anyway
-
I don't care what streamers have to say. They aren't any more of an authority on this than anyone else.
-
Heresy ;-)
-
😂😂 They will have my head for such crimes against the crown.

Jealousy and wrongheadedness is ruining this country

Edited by Muffincup: 4/21/2024 11:41:58 PMNothing to do with jealousy. Celebrity status does not equal knowledge. Saying a streamer said so, therefor it is correct is nonsense. Think for yourself. Going to summits and talking with devs just means they're making deals to bolster their streaming, because for them its a career, so they are going to push for everything that makes them look as best as they can because more views means more income. You can't trust money. They are players too, very true, but when its a career path it doesn't matter how honest a person seems, when making money is involved, green is always the big deciding factor. It should be taken with a heavy grain of salt. Its not to say they are completely dishonest or anything, but they are definitely colored on it. Yes, they do have great ideas from time to time. They're human. It happens. How is all of the listening to streamers working out though? Well Sony is pissed. Players are pissed. The game constantly seems like its in a heavily undesirable state for most of the players, hence the decline. Clearly they are not speaking for the players, and Bungie is not working for the players.

Shockwave is a low-effort troll. He just takes the most obvious pro-Bungie/pro-Streamer stance and hopes he gets bites from people on the forum. I wouldn't waste your time with him. Most of his posts consist of "I'm part of the 0.05% top players and Destiny is the best game to ever exist, therefore I'm correct on all matters and you're always wrong" type of posting.
-
Ah. I appreciate that. I'm all too willing to explain the why and how of what I say, and it all too often becomes a waste of time. Thank you.
-
Yeah like if not for dim and the compendium destiny would be so much worse
-
Yeah its pretty ridiculous, and I don't particularly like DIM. Its always problematic for me and doesn't like to load current equipment.
-
Dim can be kinda funky sometimes If bungie added actual values and a dim like interface I think it would really make it feel more like an mmo
-
Yeah. They only need to look as far as Diablo for how to do it if they don't know, too. Diablo always explains exactly what everything does on each perk, zero confusion.
-
That way even new players can begin to understand what perks and subclass effects are good, instead of knowing it is a ‘moderate damage increase’
-
Exactly. When Bungie began Destiny, they said "We don't want to hold the player's hand" which is totally fine, but giving players the exact info on what does what, and how is not holding a player's hand. Its being concise with information, and absolutely helps new players.
-
lol talking about this I realise how vague the in game descriptions are.
-
Until you get to the monster paragon tree at least. Then it’s crazy -blam!- complicated.
-
In the past they've always kept up with clear explanation. I haven't gotten to the Paragon levels in 4 yet, but I'll see when I get there. I'm at 39 right meow.
