Good utility, but not good enough to justify the loss of your heavy slot. It’s debatably not even better than a standard glaive.

Winterbite was tuned perfectly in power in lightfall when it released but bungie failed to take in the variable of community. We started using it in ways that bolstered it power and that is when bungie did the nerf. Bungie never thought of synthocepts\titans manipulating winterbite when it created at the levels it was released at. Winterbite was probably tuned at 9 but once the community got it we did what we do took that 9 and augmented it power with buffs/exotics and instead of winterbite being a 9 it was 90 . And then bungie did the easy thing they nerf it. It's never going back to how it felt on release. I really think that was what bungie intended for that weapon power to be at but it failed to account for the community ability to augment and multiple an already powerful weapon into something that is gamebreaking.
