That’s the point of them though. They are supposed to be rare variants for cosmetics, not things you actually need. You don’t need them. Also, i’ve picked up 2 exotics engrams to my 10+ shiny weapons, so i don’t know what to tell you.

  • “Rare “ variants when my friend got 5 in a single 50 wave run and I got 0 in 2 50 wave runs.

  • That’s how rng works… They are still rare

  • Right, and the dozens of post all over Facebook and Twitter I see daily of people getting handfuls of them are propaganda? The rng system is broken.

  • It’s random, it isn’t broken. Tons of people win the lottery, that’s doesn’t make it unfair that you don’t.

  • Dude the lottery is actual gambling. Games shouldn't be looking to scratch the same itch that forms gambling addicts. You're essentially saying it's fair because RNG is equally brutal to everyone, but from a gamer perspective we're just getting our efforts rewarded disproportionately for no reason. Even if the shiny drops were guaranteed from and locked behind full 50 wave perfect rolled shinys would still be rare and peoples efforts would be getting rewarded equally

  • That’s how bungie designed them, they aren’t needed, there is no reason why someone should be getting bent out of shape over a shiny weapon on a weapon that isn’t even that good. If they “need” the shiny weapons that bad, i thibk gambling is the least of their worries tbh.

  • The game is loot based bud. Looter shooter, we shoot for loot. If people are putting in the effort and aren't getting rewarded I think it's entirely fair to be unhappy with the system, and that should be voiced That extends to cosmetics, but honestly Shiny weapons don't just have cosmetic advantages. Double perks offer the player an option to take advantage of multiple perks and a key example has been Edge Transit building Envious and having the option to swap to Cascade so both are being taken advantage of.

  • Yeah, that’s true, it is a looter shooter, and if you shoot things you get loot. No where in this update have we had a drought of weapon drops. It’s no where near as lucrative as coil, but compared to most other activities, onslaught gives a good amount of loot. Saying that not getting shiny weapons is a loot problem is strange to me. Not everyone is supposed to get shiny weapons. Double perks are nice and can let you do some crazy thing, but they are in no way needed. Not even for the highest level content in the game.

Not even for the highest level content in the game.[/quote] Well that's were you're wrong. Even compared to similar modes like Coil Onslaught is less rewarding and more difficult. Coil drops you 15 light and offers you 25 drops for a platinum run that only takes 30-40 minutes. Onslaught on the other hand drops you 30 light and currently only guarantees 15 drops with the possibility of an rng drop every 10 waves and takes 60-80 minutes on average. For Onslaught even if you got a guaranteed extra drop every 10 waves that'd still only be 19 which is 6 drops less than Coil for double the time investment and double the power delta. As for double perks you can maintain your opinion but it is an undeniable advantage over base and in more cases than not being able to dump your load in difficult content can be the difference between a clear and a fail, and that especially extends to Day 1 Raids.

  • You’re a fool to believe otherwise. The system is geared to reward newer or returning players who haven’t played for a long time, this has been proven time and again. Even I myself have had this happen back in D1 with Gally, raiding 6 times a week for over a year not getting it, I take. 3 month break and get it within a week of returning to the game.

  • Anecdotal evidence is not actual evidence. Just because something is believed by the community, does NOT make it true.

  • Nothing about this is anecdotal, this has been known by the entire community since the games inception in 2014. It is cold hard fact. You can see the proof of it ever single day. Everytime a veteran raider try’s to get a raid exotic after dozens or even a hundred completions and doesn’t get it but the new blueberry he’s teaching gets it on his very first run. That’s the truth about the broken rng system smacking you in the face.

  • It is not a cold hard fact i. the slightest… You just old me that none of what you said was anecdotal, and then gave me a made up anecdotal example…

  • It is great, playing the game I like and not worrying about something that people think is real when it isn’t!
