Into the light but confused

Ok so I don't mind that into the light is recycled material, maps etc, I don't even mind the recycled Shax lines in onslaught, the dude is even funny in PVE, nice one. Bringing back whisper is really cool, it has always been one of my fav exotic missions. So, why am I confused? Pantheon and shiny drop rates. With shiny weapons going away with TFS why aren't they all shiny, or why isn't there a way to increase the truly abysmal drop rate. And Pantheon, who is it supposed to be for. On first glance it would seem to be for new light and non raid players, but it is harder than the actual raid bosses and LFG Pantheon sucks. I have tried several times and have failed to find a team that can even beat the first boss, let alone get through all four, and tomorrow it gets harder!?! wtf?!? So it can't be for new light and non raid players. But the loot is all the same loot that comes from the raids, so it can't be for the dedicated raiders either because they have the loot already. So who exactly is it for? Nice that its free, shame that it seems pointless

  • Pantheon is for the top 2% of raiders and streamers. As per usual its aimed at the core elitists and streamers as they will be the only ones to be able to complete them. Its a real hard miss again. The opportunity was there to offer a raid boss experience to the general player base. Dial down the difficulty and mechanics a bit, provide a level bonus not handicap, and tempt non raiders into trying raids. Maybe increase the number of pve raiders permanently. But noooo, let’s cater to a small minority yet again( I was that small minority of dedicated raider)

    • This guy has never heard of the term “fun” before. I’m still chasing some adepts rolls but even if I had it all, I would still do pantheon because it’s fun. And the fact you kids still bring up how Into the Light is “recycled content” while not realizing it was a last second OPTIONAL content they gave to fill in the delay is hilarious. So much entitlement on these forums it’s insane.

      • Pantheon is Bungie's version of getting new players into raids, and getting them the weapons associated with the raid. The problem, is that if this is the case, nothing is explained to the new player or players. On top of that, you're forced to be under leveled much like contest mode, starting off slow to 5 levels under, then escalating until I believe contest mode levels under. As for the "loot" you're guaranteed a raid exotic which is nice, but removes the entire experience that the rest of us have had trying to get these weapons. On top of that, you're also guaranteed an adept version, but can either be as rewarding as soloing a dungeon, or as rewarding as stubbing your toe.

Onslaught is your sample of how bungie treats its player base. Run while you can. It just gets worse. Just like shiney drop rates.

        • I believe Pantheon is here so the Streamers can finish the Raid in the first 48 hours. Back in Forsaken days only one team beat Riven of a thousand voices in the first 24 hours. Bungie has stated the Final Shape's last mission and pale heart patrol zone wouldn't be available till the Raid is world first(Ed) clear

        • I think Pantheon is supposed to be like a victory lap for raiders before the Final Shape, featuring some of the raid bosses previously defeated with new challenges.

        • Pantheon is for training to be able to do the Day-1 raid on contest. Especially when the -20 version comes out.

Pantheon is for the more hardcore raiders who want that extra challenge. Adept weapons are for the people who don't have them yet or their desired roll (it's garden of salvation featured week so I wont be able to try for an adept zaoulis until a few more weeks) but also for the lower experienced raiders to give them something to chase Drop rates are low because they're supposed to be rare, you can enhance the perks in lightfall, why would they just give them away?

        • Pantheon is meant to be a challenge (right now it’s easy as hell), like level 50 Onslaught. Not meant for the casuals and new lights.

        • Who said Pantheon was for new lights? It's literally made for expert raiders lol

        • I’m someone who used to dedicate a lot of time to the game, and I’m looking forward to getting to play a bit of a raid throwback with a healthy player base for a few weeks. I’m just getting on to my break from school, and it’ll be fun to struggle through some tricky fights if I can get a good team together. I don’t really care about the loot, but master raids have literally never been about the loot, it’s just a bit of content for people who enjoy a good challenge to struggle with a little. Or of course for try hards to try hard in. I think it’s cool for them to innovate slightly on end-game content for the first time since Master VOG was released.

Pantheon is the part of Into The Light that's for RETURNING players to catchup on loot. A lot of returning players out there are more than competent at raids, they just took a break and need to catchup. People have it confused and think Bungie expect new players to hop in and do Pantheon, not the case. The content for new players is obviously the 40 minute timer exotic missions and the normal onslaught and the ability to skip the new light stuff and grab the thunder gods chest for a power catchup to jump right in.

Pantheon after week 1 is for hardcore raiders obviously. Casuals aren’t doing contest mode raid bosses especially the last week at -20. Godslayer is for GodSlayers not casuals. Week 1 will net casual raiders adepts and a raid exotic. After week 1 maybe 2 that activity isn’t for casual raiders. Also doesn’t mean casual raiders can get good and go for Godslayer though.

          • The answer is really simple........ It's for everyone to try but not everyone will succeed. Shinys are supposed to be rare but it's not like you need them. Pantheon on the other hand. Depends. If you want a taste of contest mode or fighting under power while also obtaining missing exotics.....then it's ideal for you. If you wanna go do the normie raids for exotics you're missing by all means go for it. Pantheon is just going to offer you a chance to get them faster and debateably easier.
With shiny weapons going away with TFS why aren't they all shiny, or why isn't there a way to increase the truly abysmal drop rate
They want you grinding non-stop for them to fill in the time gap until TFS. Shiny drops have double perks in columns 3 and 4 - having them drop all the time would make you getting your rolls easier.
And Pantheon, who is it supposed to be for.
End-game players and teams that know what they're doing. Its a timed raid boss rush that gets a bigger cap for each variant up to -20. Its not for new lights/non-raiders
