Divinity needs a buff to its baseline usability to balance out all the nerfs it's gotten over the past year

Divinity has 1 niche job and that's debuffing bosses for dps and occasionally overload champions. So with all the nerfs it's gotten to its debuff ability it needs a buff to its baseline functionality so it's less of a niche used weapon. My thoughts: 1. Buff base non-crit damage and let it jolt targets. This would give it ad clear potential and make up for the fact that it's base damage is weaker than most legendary trave Rifles. 2. Let the arc cage explode more frequently, and the explosion creates an arc blinding effect. This would buff it's dps and make it more useful against high health targets like champions, while also letting it stun both unstoppables and overloads. 3. Greatly increase crit damage and precision kills create arc explosions and refund ammo. All of these options would let you use Divinity in more rolls and make it more viable for casual content.

  • This is just OP I don’t understand or get why people just want the most overpowered weapons ever. I’m not saying the game has to be as difficult as Darksouls or other souls like games. That being said, the game shouldn’t be brain dead either. Players should be rewarded for being skilled and capable, and not because they have a weapon. By reward, I mean bigger damage number. Weapons should also be given to you, but they should round out and further complete your arsenal as opposed to being the best of the best. Vex Mythoclast is a perfect example. What would be the point of playing the game if you can just become the best player by having a single weapon. The reason why Day 1s are so popular is because they are a challenge, but having a weapon be as good and powerful as you suggested Div become, you make that challenge disingenuous. It would further choke and kill the game That’s not saying that exotics can’t be buffed, reworked, or otherwise made powerful. Just look at how they buffed Nighthawk, but unlike the buff you suggested to Divinity, it doesn’t completely destroy the meta. There are still exotics that compete with it, most especially being Star Eaters. Furthermore, it is limited in overall effectiveness because it’s forced to a singular class. An Exotic filling out a Niche is a good thing, because it means that the exotic is useful, and by extension, balanced. Exotics that don’t fill out a niche, nor have any usability end up being the exotics you store in the vault. Promethium Spurs are a perfect example. They have no usable niche.
