I should be able to fire my weapon AND get the melee off after if I've done this in rapid succession. It was a part of the skill gap.
If I assess speed, range, angle of attack, change of vertically, align a shot, hit it and then melee close enough for the kill, I should not be penalized. That's dumb. Why improve at anything?
This decision is in the same vein of nerfing stability on slide or accuracy in the air. Nerfing reload canceling. Pissed to the same degree as these other crap choices that were made in the past.
Sure. Continue to collapse the ceiling and raise the floor, I'm not a game dev. If it will improve the health of the Crucible in your collective minds, I accept that. Not sure how much of a problem it is when you design so many other things to be free.
The arc Titan kit existed as it did demolishing entire teams with a single melee with two button depressions, but this needed a change? Grapple melee and fitting in shots while traversing the space isn't even remotely close and demanded more of the user.
Perhaps you could put your effort and time into fixing the hit detection instead, as it whiffs now more than ever.
