With the launch of the final shape & the new prismatic subclass, I have found a keen interest in using the travelers chosen for a cornerstone of my build crafting to help with ability regen and prismatic uptime.
With this, and my bias put forward, I would like to suggest a possible change to the travelers chosen catalyst to make it more useful with prismatic build crafting.
Instead of the catalyst adding the "osmosis" perk, which changes the weapons damage type to the type of your grenade upon grenade use. I am suggesting a new perk be added to the weapon that would allow for you to use any ability to change the type of said ability to the weapon to better allow for prismatic builds.
The perk could be listed something like this,
[Perk Name]: "upon ability use, weapon will change its damage type to match that of the ability used"
As for why I think this is a good change, the travelers chosen right now is rather underrated, however, with the ability to change to either light or dark depending on your ability setups on a prismatic build would allow for you to setup both your light and dark meters quickly creating a very fun gameplay loop for a weapon begging to be used with the new prismatic system.
As I am not a programmer, I am unsure of how difficult this would be to implement, however, I feel this would be a very fitting and interesting way to spice up a now unpopular and not exactly powerful exotic with a relatively small change!
This change would build in new life into the travelers chosen. Along with fitting in well with the themes of the final shape expansion.
