I recently just finished the Lightfall campaign with my Hunter build for the exotic helmet that you get from completing on Legendary. I have the Triumph stating I completed the Campaign on Legendary, but no exotic item was given to me. I have completed the quest all the way to Rohan's funeral. Is this a bug? I spent a lot of time trying to get this item just for it not to give it to me. Tried to send a request to Bungie help, but since my problem wasn't part of their pre-selected topics, they gave me a copy and paste answer instead of trying to help in any way.
