Alone this week, with the Day 1 server issues and later on a few days later with the unexpected maintenance we players of that game got both times compensation in XP boosts and such for 3 days (means 6 days in total).
Meanwhile Bungie, when they have unexpected extended maintenance doesn't even give us a single bit of bright dust.
Funny how a Japan* megacorp is in that case more consumer-friendly than a western game developer.
Bungie, you should take notes and an example from that. Giving compensation for your server issues is actually something people can and should expect from you.
* I was told it is a Korean company, which doesn't really changes the point I try to make.
-
My brother in Christ I can’t imagine wanting reparations for server maintenance.
-
Sht take.

We need to stop with the narrative that first descendant is some destiny killer or is even remotely comparable in any way at all. The game is a laggy mess with horrific frame rate issues, gameplay is bare bones and gets boring in 10 minutes, I felt like I was playing a generic game from 3 generations ago. Feels like a mobile game that was badly ported to console. I have my issues with destiny and Bungie but I will at least give Bungie that destiny 2 is vastly better than the first descendant in practically every area that exists. I put a few hours into it and I could not stomach another minute of how boring it is and just completely deleted it. If the game is around in a year or 2, has had some polish and some actual content added to it, I might consider downloading it again IF there's absolutely nothing else to play.
-
So go play First Descendent’s…

Edited by TeKnoVKNG23: 7/5/2024 7:17:37 AMMany developers(especially mobile game devs) do this for any kind of maintenance or downtime. AAA companies assume they have your money already so they don't tend to really care when the servers are down/crap and people can't play the game. Nexon and other mobile devs want you back in the game ASAP and will entice you to play with this compensation because there's a slight chance you might spend some money while you're in the game. Compensation directly causes people to keep playing/spend more time in the game and thus increases the chance you'll get a monetary return. Player engagement/time spent in game is one of the biggest metrics that mobile game devs shoot for. Bungie doesn't care, they've already got your $100 for the new DLC and season passes, and the Eververse whales are already accounted for, plus they know people are hard addicted to this game and they can do pretty much whatever they want and it doesn't matter.
-
Absolutely terrible company. Supporting them is TRULY bad for the industry. I will not even download it
-
Why should they ?. They know they will be fine with how they are going. Plus most of the player base don't actually care about extended down time they just play other games.
-
The difference is that it's a brand new game and they are trying to get people to enjoy it so they will pay for the characters. Destiny is an established franchise that thinks they're bulletproof right now because they paid for a bunch of inflated reviews and puff articles. This DLC is already failing. Player engagement is really, really low for this close to release. The First Descendant will need more time to judge, but right now it's a simplistic beginning of a game because it needs money to turn into a quality franchise and they can only make money if people buy the loot.
-
It's almost like one of the 2 had just come out, and players that bought the pass in the first descendant and got any of the boosts would have missed out on using them, so it makes sense to provide them for the issues. Destiny 2, on the other hand. What are they supposed to give? A glimmer boost? You already get the weekly xp boost, and a glimmer one is pointless, so what are they supposed to do.
-
I vaguely remember Bungie doing some similar stuff when it first came out. I'm talking D1 around Christmas and all the Sony servers were down. Bungie did some stuff, can't remember what all now, for the players. The game had only been out a few months then.
-
Don’t forget that this game will be dead within 2 weeks max
-
That game has the most predatory micro transactions I've seen in a long time. They make the Eververse store look like amateurs.
-
Too bad that game is boring af
-
Is this person really insinuating that Nexon is a more player friendly company than Bungie? Is that really what I am reading right now. Way to tell me TFD is your very first Nexon game without telling me it's your very first Nexon game. Come on back when you figure out Nexon's grift homie.
-
Lol support this game and enjoy those ridiculous micro transactions....it will only get worse with this company I would not recommend supporting this game/company unless you like mobile gaming monetization coming to more games.
-
Expecting compensation for server issues is just weird tbh. Is it nice? Sure. Should it ever be expected? No, of course not.
-
Didn’t we get free bright dust in Eververse every week last season for several weeks? Besides, it’s apples and oranges.
-
That's a pretty terrible comparison. D2 already has xp boosts that last the entire season for customers. It also has weekly rep or drop boosts for all players for free.
-
Edited by SnakeEyes734: 7/5/2024 8:59:28 AMThis is definitely not Warframe style free to play monetization. Personally I Will not support what this company is trying to do gaming. It's terrible

Edited by Guardian,Archon Of Light: 7/5/2024 1:01:17 AMA new ip that is built on the sucess of others, has to do something generous to get there name out there But let's see if you can trade currency in-game like Warframe , and have an-game path and a direct money path like Warframe With premium descendents out of the gate, and $100 skins, it's going to be a rude awakening when the new game blinders are off I have Warframe at home , that's been out longer than Destiny , that brought the looter shooter genre to life , and has so much content now, even I feel overwhelmed, and even has coupons, like 75% off any non tennogen(because that money goes to the community member that designed them)item in the store, and don't even need PS Plus to play, and don't have to spend a real dime if you dont want to , although I do just to support the people at DE for providing so much and asking for so little First Descendents, don't waste your time
-
Game just came out, right? They have to do everything in their power to keep players around to establish a playerbase
-
Purely for PR. Since they gave compensation, there's gonna be articles and posts on social media about it further pushing their name. Give all the compensation they want, that doesn't fix the snooze fest that is first descendant.
-
You're not entitled to anything if the server is offline for maintenance or any issues.
-
Woah…. XP…. Compensation indeed! Why do we live in a culture where compensation is demanded for minor inconvenience?
-
I wouldn't cheer for nexon if I were you. These guys are selling $100 ultimate skins.
-
Bungie is a greedy company what do you expect, thats why most of the errors say its your fault
