PvP Much Worse Since The Final Shape
Destiny 2 PvP gameplay was already not one of the best, but since The Final Shape Extension in June 2024 Crucible has become even a bigger joke.
The lag in Destiny 2 Crucible is unbelievable. In most online matches, the game loads enemies too late. This means that i'm already damaged, at the moment the enemy appears on my screen.
Also, the most of my Iron Banner matches are being called and my (solo) team doesn't stand a chance.
I'm convinced that my wired fiber optics internet is not correctly tweaked by Bungie's pvp-engine.
What have you done to make it worse, Bungie?

1 ReplyFirst game I load into my whole team are 0.5 players and the other team has one 2kd player and 3 1.2 players. I’m a 2.89 kd player with 300k pvp kills they say there’s outlier protection I don’t believe that for a second.

Nope, beyond light is still the worst the pvp has ever been in.

2 RepliesNothings really changed. Smaller population now. Older game so everyone who stuck it out to “git gud” as they say, did. People know to play angles. Peak shot and disengage when winning the engagement is not optimal. All you pretty much have left is the try hards. There is no SBMM. Every match is a sweat fest now in quickplay, with the occasional one sided matches. We all go through moments of being the nail and the other team the hammer.

I agree, it is worst from all points of view. They gave up on PVP a long time ago, and don't even pretend to make it playable

Yeah not looking good ! I only play now few times a week to play control . Stopped pve a few weeks back . In my mind destiny is done with final shape . 10 years is amazing hold to have on alot if people . I Bungie doesn’t let pvp die out .

Nothing but ability spam -looking at you hunters- and maybe someone Kovostov mapping you. Range is useless and hit detection lag favors players in motion running through bullets and aoe damage -looking at you again, Hunters. I’ve been at this since D1 and this is pretty bad. Is the PvP strike team even employed anymore?

PvP in this game will never work right. Too many people play with an SBMM mentality but want CBMM matchmaking to make games easier for them. Changing it off of what it is now would cause an exodus from a very loud, very toxic subset of players who hang their self esteem on artificially inflated KD stats. Sorry bud, never gonna happen.

1 ReplyJust speculating but I think it's cause most of the casual player base is dead and pvp is left with the sweats. Nothing wrong with sweat but if that's all that's left in the community, that's all you can match with. My neice and I are very average players and we get matched either 2+ kds and guilded flawless players

7 RepliesBungie utilizes P2P networking for pvp matches. This is why you cant have SBMM and they utilize CBMM as a primary filter. Now, with this said Bungie still has some fault here. Tens of Millions of dollars and they still refuse to establish PVP servers with proper match making. If you have played any competitive game for any length of time you realize that you might have to wait a bit for matches. Some of the fault is on gamers as well, wanting that instant gratification instead of waiting a few minutes to get a match allows Bungie to get away with this. If you really REALLY wanted to force Bungie's hand. We have to do something we all dont want to... Stop playing. Just stop playing. I know, its hard. I gave it up for months before I came back. If just 30,000 people gave up logging in and not interact with this at all. Bungie would cave due to Sony Pressure.

Was good in d1, d2 they overfilled the cup and poured in to many weapon types and abilities.

5 RepliesPvP feels worse because you are experiencing the SBMM combined with FTMM. What is genuinely baffling to me is the top percentage of players have been warning everyone that this was a horrible idea, yet the bottom of the barrel players kept pushing for it and this is what y’all get when bungie listens to the bottom players instead of the players who actually play the game as their main game.

I have fiber optic internet as well and when I see them blinking all over the place they are clearly cheating and just back out. This game is old and super stale now it’s over for me no more money and or time for me. Concord and new fps time. 10 years has been a long time anyway.

Warlocks and Hunters had more attention from devs. Also devs being lazy with titan because there the most unplaced class in the game , centered them around melee only. So there in a bad place right now and devs don't care. I use my warlock when I need to do pvp
