I am having a terrible time trying to play the new content. Long story short I started on Xbox then ended up cross saving with Steam and solely played on Steam up until recently. I was able to get all the Final Shape content cheaper on Epic so I purchased it on that platform. I had also linked that Epic account awhile back I believe. From what I gathered I needed to deactivate the accounts, and in order to do that you need to authenticate the accounts. It will allow me to do Xbox, and Steam but when it comes to Epic I keep getting and authentication error message and cannot deactivate any of the accounts! It already sucks that I have to wait 90 days to play the new content but if I cannot get this figured out then I cannot play at all because I do not have another $100+ to pay for it on another platform!!!!!!!! I get cross save is supposed to be a one time deal, and you guys do it to discourage account recovs but I am getting screwed because of this!!!!!!!!!!! What do I need to do to deactivate cross save so I can even begin the 90 days??!! PLEASE HELP this really sucks to say the absolute least!!!!

Edited by EckyThump: 8/1/2024 9:20:42 PMHey there!
From what I gathered I needed to deactivate the accounts
Sorry I am somewhat confused as to why you're doing this, what your intended end goal is. Your Active character set is XBox, if you deactivate cross-save, then your characters will become XBox only. I am not sure what you plan to do with next on your Epic account, you're either going to use it as Active (which will mean you won't be playing your current XBox characters) or set it up as dormant again - in which case you're basically back to the state that you're in now. Could you explain why deactivating is going to help? Is it your intention to start fresh on Epic? Secondly, just an observation, If you bought The Final Shape on the linked Epic account, the Episode pass (one if it was the standard edition, three if it was the annual pass edition) would have been applied to your XBox characters, as they are the Active character set. However if I look you up on crimson.report -> https://crimson.report/4611686018451131666/4611686018494476227 Not only do you not show as owning anything on the linked Epic account, but there are no passes attached to your XBox Active account. With you being unable to authenticate the existing Epic account, that's two things that point to the following conclusion - the Epic account attached to your cross-save is a different Epic Games account to the one you've trying to authenticate. When you launch the game on Epic, do you see your XBox characters? If you log out here on Bungie.net, and log in with the Epic credentials you are trying to authenticate with, what happens, what account does it bring you to?
