Why has my bungie name been changed from my gamertag without my permission???

Same issue. I started on ps4 but got a ps5 and I guess it’s saying it changed me to guardian whatever because I’m “crossplaying” with a ps4 destiny disc I don’t know. Either way it’s bs

Same here - changed to random Guardian3780 after last Tuesday update. I cannot change to what it was and it only allowed me to change to my name followed by random numbers. I've used my old name since Destiny 1 day 1, on PS, and then PS/ Steam and XBox as I play on all platforms. Pretty upsetting.

I also have the same issue. Logged in after Patch Destiny 2 Update 8.0.5.1 Aug 13, 2024 and received a on screen notification while logging on that my Bungie name Marcus Maximus was changed to Guardian1102#7280. No warning no heads up just done. I've been Destiny 2 & Destiny 1 Player since Day 1. Very upset that there is no recourse just here it is...live with it. Bungie at least let us have a name change token to allow us to change our name to something that is more human. Instead of Guardian1102. After all the money and time that I've spent playing and loving this game you'd think a little more repect for a paying customer would be in order. Bungie please make this right for me and the community...Thank you.

I have the same issue. Logged in after this Tuesday maintenance and BAMMMMM my name was changed and it will not let me change it to what it was before. Even though it gives me an option to do so.
