IceBreaker Drop Rate Query
I am a relatively new player and this is my first "paid" dungeon. Did my 9th clear per character this week reset..
My question is will the drop rate still be 5%(+ triumphs)for the next reset too or is there some kind of pity mechanic.
I read in an article "First of all, every time you beat Vesper’s Host and don’t get Ice Breaker, your chances of getting the weapon increase. Essentially, so long as you keep trying, you are almost guaranteed to get it eventually."
So that's why I am curious.

I don’t think that mechanic exists any more. It’s around 5% with those triumphs increasing it by an unknown amount - I presume 5% each one.

1 ReplyThe pity mechanic is back and forth with bungie. Sometimes they add it other times they don't. I wouldn't rely on an article since I think we'd need bungie's confirmation which they don't really like to talk about.

1 ReplyEdited by jhermannITJ: 10/22/2024 9:08:52 PMIt's supposed to work that way... but some people go 30-50 cycles. Some people just wait an episode/season to farm it on rotation. The theory is, for people who have this issue... is that it resets for them when they switch characters. So, my recommendation to these players is... though counter intuitive, only clear on one character regardless of if you're doing it week to week... when it's new, or if you wait for it to be on the rotator. Btw, Icebreaker is a PvP weapon for right now... no dps viability and we have exotic primaries that are better at add-clear... AND ignition dmg is bugged and low right now.
