My account sits at 99 strange coins all week when I’m playing. This cap is intentionally stealing rewards from the player. Between this and clear throttling of gambit engrams bungie please stop or I’m literally going to stop playing your game like all my other friends have.
-
Xur should just be there all week long.
-
Haha, "stealing" rewards? Interesting choice of words. Personally, I think the better solution is to make Xur a permanent vendor at the tower. On top of that, this removes the "fomo" for players who are unavailable on weekends.

Edited by Toots238857: 11/1/2024 8:51:29 PMI personally believe they try to hamstring us throughout this entire game. I believe nothing anymore. Seriously. Even things like black screens to delay time. I don't trust them at all. Everything is just too coincidental. They sure can rush to fix things that hinder them though. That has been proven. The strange coin economy helps them, not us. As far as play time. And they would have gotten away with "perk weighting" too....if it wasn't for you meddling kids! 🤣

Bungie has a literal psychologist they hired on their team to make decisions just like this one. It's very intentional to limit what you can earn per week to manipulate you into coming back each week. So scummy
-
He should at least let you purchase stuff in the Treasure Hoard(Consumables, dungeon armor, weapons)seeing he's in Eternity (Dares) Then on Friday you can purchase new(and old) stuff in the tower when he makes his visit there. That way you can spend your Strange Coins on whatever he has. Problem solved.
-
Yeah. I don’t mind that it’s capped, but the cap should be a bit higher…
-
Well, stop doing those activities that reward strange coins and do something else. This is Bungie's way of telling people to go do other stuff in the game. Bungie doesn't want people to focus on just a few things. Unfortunately, the "other" things are not rewarding enough to do repeatedly. So, you either stop playing or you get frustrated at not getting further rewards.
-
There should be no.cap. The only thing worthwhile ls Catalysts .engrams etc. So why limit it?
-
It would be different if the excess Coins went to the Post Master, you know like everything else in the game. But no. Strange Coins are the one exception. Even Candy you don't pick up goes to the Post Master.
-
They should either raise the cap or send the rest to the Postmaster
-
At a minimum they should allow a glimmer/materials for strange coins exchange when xur isn't at the tower. Or remove the cap.
-
the whole resources excuse is weak by them when their store has so much crap in it that no one will buy We shouldn't have a cap on things like strange coins, ciphers, golf balls and so on
-
Same goes for any of the ciphers (nf+trials). You just can’t spend them when it’s either not available or if the weapon isn’t even unlocked in collection yet.

Jet Set Willy
……..I’m an average player. 😉 - old
The current cap of 99 really does seem too low. -
They need to make it 777 cap
-
What?! Bungle would never steal from their players. Heck, last time I was on Titan. . . um, never mind.
-
NOOO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!!! IF YOU COULD STOCKPILE COINS... YOU COULD uhhh.... you could... uhm... JUST THINK OF THE NEW PLAYERS!!!! You might end up being able to focus 1000 crappy legacy guns that no-one uses!!! THINK OF THE NEW PLAYERS!!!11!!!!11!!!1!!
-
It's the same mentality that made them remove crafting and bring back the pinnacle grind - slowing your progress/rewards to keep you playing longer. Typical f2p/gacha/mobile strategy. They seemed to be evolving away from this during witch queen/lightfall but I guess the low player numbers made them relapse.
-
Not to mention all the other mats with small limits that negatively affect the game (like losing mats at vendors or wondering why you can’t prestige). Bungie, if you think we’re stockpiling, just make the mat useless like legendary shards. You already have a way to punish people for stockpiling and history has shown you’re not afraid to implement it.
-
Spend them then This is on you
-
Bungie can not stop being scumbags, they know no other way. I have quit. Fuk em
-
Remove limit Increase Xur prices Works out the same way, but makes people feel like there time isn't being wasted
-
Edited by amazing_month041: 10/31/2024 10:55:50 AMMore like slowing down the process what makes players do do more certain activities what makes Bungie happy because "NuMbErS" The chance for higher coin cap equals with the chance when my dad gonna come back and it's zero
-
I agree it complicates getting different items from Xur on the weekends
