Back when we had the Elemental Well system, there was a mod called Well of Ions, which increased your melee damage for a short time when you picked up an Arc elemental orb. They should bring that back, and merge it with Amplified. It would give Amplified a more offensive function, and synergize better with the Arc subclasses' close range abilities.

It’s the main thing arc has and is overall very underwhelming.

I miss those old builds

My thought to buff amplified is that Amplified: - 15% DR - 0.9x handling and reload scalars - 50 Mobility - Increased Slide Distance Speed Booster: - Increase DR to 30% Amplified now does what it was originally supposed to do and upgrades more abilities. - Stormtrance - gains movement speed. - Chaos Reach - Jolting lightning strikes occur faster. - Arc Staff - Heavy attacks generate aftershocks - Fist of Havoc - Increased heavy attack radius to max size. - Disorienting Blow - Blinding explosion is larger. - Tempest Strike - Travels longer and final strike is larger. - Thunderclap - hits max damage faster in PvE - Seismic Slam - larger radius - Juggernaut - shield is larger and has 2x PvE DR Just my thoughts. I honestly think just a passive DR and handling/reload scalar would go a long way.

Amplification is a pretty lack lustre buff. It’s a flat handling buff, grants 50 mobility and slide distance and has the ability to access speed booster. Speed booster gives DR, but only while sprinting, and it’s only 15%. It’s quite good on arc hunter with flow state, but it’s quite niche, and Arc as a whole is probably the weakest subclass apart from arc warlock. Amplification needs to have a generic DR/Heal/Defensive verb like every other class has. -Stasis has a 25/36% DR frost armor and healing from shards -Strand has Woven mail and sever -Void has Overshield/Devour/Invis -Solar has Restoration x1/2 and Cure x1/2/3. Arc has blind, but it’s not a consistent survival tool, since it’s only effective vs non-boss combatants, and its sources aren’t very spammable apart from Queenbreaker(my goat) in comparison to other Subclass verbs. Would love to see it grant 20% DR while amplified, and an additional 15% with speed booster.

Other than niche stuff like Eddy Current or some prismatic fragments, there really is no direct benefit to amplification other than the speed/jump boost (that I can think of) so that would be a nice change
-
Being amplified actually does a lot to crazy things. Sucks that those things it helps with doesn’t really benefit pve, and maybe the only opportunity I see it being used is maybe dps phases for maximum swap/ads and reload speed. Outside of that it doesn’t really benefit in pve. Last season mod gave a DR whenever you became amplified and I thought that was really good.

Each class should have some sort of amplified boost. Hunters get movement and melee speed, Titans get resistance, Warlocks get regeneration.
-
The general sense of this post seems to be that amplified should work better?? Please correct me if I'm wrong! It does seem less appealing, but you do get increased mobility and I'm pretty sure (don't know for a fact) you get increased reload speed (similar to the old outlaw perk) from it as well... it has synergy with prismatic fragments that lead off light buffs, and as it's easy to proc it works well. It doesn't have the survivability as the other buffs, but I do like that it is different... there should be a more diverse range of effects as void/stasis/stand do all lean in one direction.
-
It does the speed reload on hunter, some melee buffs with titan and some speed with locks which is odd like why can’t amplified overall just do all 3 across all classes and call it a day?
-
Movement speed, jump height/distance, substantial reload speed and class ability regen seem pretty fair.
-
Yeah, Amplified and Arc as a whole need massive buffs. It's the weakest subclass in the game, and the only Arc subclass that was doing kind of ok, Arc Hunter, just got a pretty big hit to its survivability because of how op Prismatic Hunter is.

Upvote. Arc needs help.

Edited by Magiscene: 11/1/2024 12:57:31 AMIt does give a nice speed bonus and buffs reload speed. It definitely does need a buff to make it slightly better in endgame scenarios. I would give it one of these buffs Have it give a higher dmg resistance while moving Buffs melee dmg or range Melee kills or arc kills create a pulse that blinds nearby enemies. (Arc needs better access to blinding too imo) It definitely has its niche uses but overall void or solar are still better.
