Bungie, and the community involved, we need to talk.
I just finished watching an elitist Datto video where he ... talked ... about game play modifiers.
He wants negative modifiers, and frankly so do I, but the community hates everything that gets added.
If you want to actually fix this problem, you need to make the modifiers worth our time, so...
Stop giving us gear we can delete without a second glance, and start showering us with loot when we beat something in the end game.
At no point should I play a raid, GM, or seasonal activity, and have nothing to show for it, apart from glimmer. In Garden of Salvation, I only get 4 drops per run, max of 12 drops on most weeks. I get 6 drops EVERY week just holding checkpoints for bonus chests. I DO NOT PLAY THAT REPRIZED RAID. It is not worth my time to organize then beat an entire raid 3 times, no matter how trivial it is. It's not the quality of loot or difficulty level, its the effort to quantity ratio.
I have more fun booting up Borderlands 2 and killing Terramorphous because at least that game has the decency to shower me in trash I don't need, instead of drip feeding it to me. Monster Hunter World gives me at minimum 3 items for 35min of my time, and that is STILL more resources than dismantling the table scraps of legitimately worthless "loot" any one of D2's endgame activities would drop, after 45min
(that's a real example, 45min of Onslaught, and Onslaught is the only thing even approaching a good ratio)
You'll either listen or you wont, so TL/DR:
- #1 find a way to stop incompatible combinations of perks from rolling.*
- #2 make end game activities about quantity of loot, NOT quality.
- #3 let us toggle "weapon drops only" in a menu somewhere**
* things like Overflow & Kill-clip. things that do not function together.
** Armor fixes are their own battle, but I am sick of getting armor out of raid chests instead of weapons, let alone red borders. everyone is.

Edited by ⒻⒶⒷⓄⓊⓇⒼⒺ: 12/8/2024 8:48:34 AMD2 is like a gambler machine. If those changes were in the game everyone would get their loot in an instant. Taking out the grind. Casino Bungo will never let you get your loot that quick. They understand that most people would stop playing. So you need to ask yourself the following question: Do you really like the game and its activities/playlists? Or are you simply just here for the grind feeding your addiction. If you know the answer to that one, you will find that this post is useless.

is kinda hard for bungie tbf, this community can't read, can't use eyes, and can't use simple builds

A lot of posts seem to have loot as one of the central issues this season. Overall the people do not appear to feel rewarded and there's also been a lot of requests for a general revision to almost everything if you add up everyone's criticism. I guess it all just needs to feel new. So they should get to doing that and then we'll wait for that and then when that gets here everything will be great.

D2 needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. The power level system is outdated unfun and serves no meaningful purpose which only hinders the game. The loot pool of weapons is over saturated with guns that aren't special and basically the same as others of their archetype. The way the story is told is bad and needs reworking. Pvp is a hot mess and needs redoing with a separate sandbox at minimum. The servers are old and dated. The code is falling apart and is essentially being held to together by hopes and wishes. The development cycle doesn't work very well. Anti cheat is a joke. Activities are all over the place with many near fully useless and stagnant. The new player experience is terrible thus hurting the player on boarding. The business model doesn't work well enough. Content vaulting is a big issue still. Player on boarding for raids needs work. The game needs so many fundermental changes and rebuilds it would be easier to make D3 at this point.
