If each subclass had its own "Transcendence", that would be great.

Unlike Prism, it does not achieve harmony with light and dark, but rather overcharges the element being used. If we proceed in this way, we can use three types of Light Energy to fill the "Transcendence energy." For example, if we want the Void Subclass to use "Transcendence", we must use Arc, Solar, and Void types of damage to fill the energy, and none of the three are missing. If one type of damage is missing, "Transcendence" cannot be used. Or it can be achieve harmony with the opposite element. For example, using Strand type damage to fill the "Transcendence Energy" of the Void Subclass. Anyway, it's just an idea.

  • It would make literally every subclass more viable, because prism is WAY too good compared to base subclasses Great idea

  • The other subclasses could certainly use something similar to transcendence. How the bar would get filled is kind of hard to figure out though because the other classes might be more interesting if they focused all on compounding the power of their respective element rather than combining them. Prismatic has got the combining thing covered but filling the bar could also work if you stuck to either light or dark elements to fill it. Then there's also the problem of how weapons are distributed so you'd almost have to use an element that's the opposite of your subclass. Almost makes me think something needs to happen with how our inventory is distributed but I wouldn't know what.

    • I think more of a balance between ability energy types and weapon energies. It's a great idea, the question is how to do it without forcing build crafting into a makeshift prismatic build.

    • Nah, Transcendence’s whole idea is mixing light and dark. That should not be brought to the other static subclasses. Let them be their own thing. However, the idea of a gauge is fine. Maybe light is filled by the other two light types, and darkness from strand and stasis? Eg. Void takes solar + arc Solar takes void + arc Arc takes void + solar Stasis takes strand + (next darkness subclass) Strand takes stasis + (next darkness subclass) (Next darkness subclass) takes stasis + strand So here, you’re retaining the idea of light and darkness being separate things, letting prismatic have the idea of mixing light and dark, but using light for light, and dark for dark. A light and darkness “Mastery” gauge, if you will. And that will work just like transcendence.

The base subclasses should be “Element + kinetic” to fill the bar. Either that or “Element + other elements of its alignment (Light or Dark depending on the subclass)”

I think this is a decent idea, I really do, and I really hope Bungie is considering giving all classes a form of transcendence. However, there's some minor functional issues requiring the different damage types to get elemental transcendence. Mainly the most people match their weapon elements to their builds because their weapons directly benefit from the various boosts that they get from their fragments. For example, volatile rounds are granted by various void builds. There wouldn't be any sense in using a solar or arc weapon for a volatile round build because volatile rounds only apply to void weapons. With how ability spam based a lot of builds are nowadays, I would simply rest on letting the Transcendence meter be filled up solely by weapon kills with the matching element type, and Kinetic can count towards everything. It would give kinetic weapons a nice, shiny new niche that would give them a definite edge.
