Hi guys! I have been trying to get good at Crucible (for a long time) and I really really want tips on how to get better. I really want to master HCs and other weapons so I can adapt my playstyle but I have horrific tendencies to randomly miss shots.
Also I would like to understand more general theory over PvP which are similar to the 60/40 rule (40% screen behind cover, 60% centered/aimed at the enemy or its the other way around I believe)
Thank you so much for any inputs even the negatives

In pvp, drop other audio sources to about a 4 and max out sound effects, jumps, footsteps, shots and ability activation sounds in addition to team location and radar can pretty much tell you everything you need to know. This has probably made the biggest difference for me in the long run. -Cover While you can never always be around it try to stay within a sliding distance of it if possible, and the 60/40 rule helps with not overextending. But there is generally the 3 second rule some ppl like where you don't stay still for too long. Hunkering down tends to make picking at you easier since you're in a predictable spot. -Disengaging In high skill lobbies a lot of disengaging happens, if you're in a bad engagement and can retreat it's often better to do so than die in a lost fight, assuming you won't lose the game for doing it. -flanking A full flank is really only useful if you can do it fast, if it takes too long it gives the opponent too much time to notice and collapse on you or your now disadvantaged teammates. A annoyance/Pic flank is usually just meant to deal damage, divide attention, and distract, or get a quick safe pic if you can't get away from your flank alive, you over extended. -Controller settings If you're on controller and don't already use custom bindings, I strongly recommend using the puppeteer setup which puts crouch on the right joystick. -Mod your armor Make sure your armor has relevant mods for loaders, holsters, targeting, and unflinching. -Stats Recovery is probably the most important stat in pvp, with the exception of certain builds, you really, really want it at 9 or 10, it makes a huge servability and actions per minute different. Resilience has a general threshold of 7 for most guns to force stricter optimals. Hopefully one of those can help you.
