A classic. James Earl Jones played Lennie Small in the 1974-1975 revival on Broadway and was brilliant. That novel has influenced so much of American culture (even Warner Bros. cartoons)

Is that related to "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"?

I prefer the Grapes of Wrath but this one is a masterpiece too.

That is a great book. I think someone was chopping onions around me when I finished reading. As always, great authors make you feel the whole run of emotions in their work as their story and characters evolve. There's a reason why great authors' work carries across generations.

It’s good, but we had to read it for a class which, for me, sets it up for failure of me liking it for more than a good grade. If I had read it on my own without being prompted to, I would’ve liked it much more.

Edited by DarthWolfric: 12/18/2024 10:03:03 PMOne of my favourite book endings is Use of Weapons by Iain Banks. Basically the twist happens in the last two pages, and it transforms the story.

It is definitely a classic.
