That ending…I don’t know what to say…but the book is really good but I almost cried

  • A classic. James Earl Jones played Lennie Small in the 1974-1975 revival on Broadway and was brilliant. That novel has influenced so much of American culture (even Warner Bros. cartoons)

  • Is that related to "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"?

    • I prefer the Grapes of Wrath but this one is a masterpiece too.

    • That is a great book. I think someone was chopping onions around me when I finished reading. As always, great authors make you feel the whole run of emotions in their work as their story and characters evolve. There's a reason why great authors' work carries across generations.

    • It’s good, but we had to read it for a class which, for me, sets it up for failure of me liking it for more than a good grade. If I had read it on my own without being prompted to, I would’ve liked it much more.

One of my favourite book endings is Use of Weapons by Iain Banks. Basically the twist happens in the last two pages, and it transforms the story.
