Enjoyed the Ender series, liked the Shadow series as well. Both get a little weird by the final book, which honestly seems to be a theme in Card's writing.

It's an amazing book, but I much prefer Speaker for the Dead.

Only ever watched the movie. It was good

Loved the book, the movie is pretty decent.

Edited by The First Aifos: 12/18/2024 10:22:12 PMThe only thing I know about it is my sister was reading both it and my book at the same time, and when she said she liked my book better, my mummy got mad at her, saying nothing I made could ever compare, and then my sister stopped reading my book because my mummy made her feel bad about it. Yay. Edit: And to be clear, my mummy has not read my book.

Great book. Thought I liked the movie until I rewatched it in class. Yike They really geared that sucker to the tween audience holy moly.
It’s almost as bad as what they did to The Giver, Maze Runner, I Am Number Four, and the fricking Seventh Son series and holy moly they did Seventh Son (-blam!-’s Apprentice) so dirty they spoiled an entire series worth of plot points in 2 hours when they could have just done one book. I hope they don’t ever find Magician by Feist. All the other book series I could think of got turned into TV shows with a cast that don’t share key descriptive character details like hair or eye color.
At least the Starship Troopers film found popularity. Would’ve liked to see an adaptation of the book with the actual suits though.

Very good books

Good movie

It was alright...
its one of those books that if you read it and write out a book report for the military it helps get you a pat on the back and if you do more similar high-school level book reports it may help toward promotion, somehow? In the Corps we had this Commandant's Reading List, just a bunch of mumbo jumbo BS that was made up and yet somehow made into a thing to help promote 'tactical-education' to a group of crayon-eating Marines that would rather drop warheads on foreheads, or put rounds downrange than focus on promotion/rank BS.
...I suppose Enders Game was ok, the book was good, the movie was decent.

Ender's Game was good. The whole series has some good twists and character directions and developments. I'll be honest, the first time I read it I didn't enjoy it. The movie made me go back to it years later to give it another go. Then I enjoyed the book and got the rest of the series. <shrug> I guess reading tastes can change as you get older.

I'm not proud to admit I haven't read the book, but I liked the movie.
