its like they impact their own barrels and kill you
-
The architects have stepped up their campaign against us, reaching into our dimension and sticking a cork in the end of your launcher just as you pull the trigger. It's a cruel terror tactic and at this time our only solution is to not use some of our most potent weaponry. Clearly the architects need to be confronted.

To promote a bad perk called danger close?
-
You are now getting barrel stuffed by the projectiles of the enemies. I have used heavy GLs A LOT since they came out and have never had it happen till the release of revenant. They loaded the artifact with launcher perks they had to make a downside. Quite frankly if it’s a “bug” it is an annoying one for sure. I’ve found jumping and firing to be a valid way to avoid getting stuffed.
-
I suspect it's the result of some new bug Bungie added this season. Certain enemy projectiles/attacks have always been able to do it, but it's been happening MASSIVELY more often this season than any other since I've been playing the game.
-
Fair to say that this never happened under a Tory Government!

Edited by ForeverLaxx: 12/21/2024 9:52:58 AMThere are a crazy amount of objects/projectiles in the game that are coded with a hitbox for some inexplicable reason. Considering the large pink clouds of tonic materials flying toward you and the Scorn sawblade projectiles are on that list, it's no wonder people are getting blown up seemingly randomly and far more often this season compared to before. However, did you know that glimmer is also on that list? Any glimmer exploding out of a defeated target can intercept your GL/RL shot and detonate it in your face. Why are so many things given hitboxes? I'd ask Bungie, but I doubt even they know these days.

This is happening to me very often. I get killed when firing GL and the fire from the enemy detonates the GL's nade In front of me and I die. This never happened before and now is a thing. I don't thinks is a bug...I think Bungie did it on purpose to keep you in the game longer. Really Sketchy!!
-
its like they impact their own barrels and kill you
I been using salvations grip and it's supposed to make a fan of crystals and often they aren't visible and I go to make more and boom I'm dead
-
It's happening alot that I've switched to a machine gun just to avoid dying from "no object in front of me"😑
-
It's a nerf wouthout nerfing. It happens on my rockets now too. They did a similar thing back when swords were viable, lets make bosses repeatedly stomp you accross the map. It actually began when we first got Ikelos shotty from Mars Protocol with trench barrel, the stomp was dialled up back then, now the stomp applies slow or scroch stacks to you as well. So now we keep a little distance and take advantage of BaitnSwitch... except the chance of blowing your own face off is the new risk.
-
Good thing I’m not going crazy. I have this happen a lot. I thought maybe I was underestimating the radius of Explosive Light, but it seems others are having this problem too.
-
I experienced blowing myself up by shooting 2 grenades quickly I think they might have detonated one on the other maybe. Also, due to lag when on my screen I was over the wall shooting a GL the game thought I was in front of it thus killed me and my ghost was in front of the wall where the game thought I was not where my screen was showing me. So, yes bad programming.
-
The tonic materials that fly toward you are solid BTW and can even be mantled on
-
Collision has been broken for GLs and RLs since the beginning of Revenant and since BUNGO fired most of the support staff that could test these things we are now more than ever subjected to this and good luck in grabbing their attention to this problem.
-
Projectile collision has always been a thing even back to D1 check old “vines” of grenades sticking to grenades. The AI firing at us was probably coded to aim at our weapons more accurately hence this new blowing your self up meta

Edited by Klaus_Reaper (Adept): 12/21/2024 2:43:10 AMforget it, they will only adress Grenade Launchers if it mess with eververse, then its fixed at 30 minutes max...

I found switching from Prospector to Dilusional Hypersomething I'm not dying as much. Waveframe or Area Denial ones have been my go to these last few seasons.
-
I developed a "primal" playstyle in the last few years when I first started playing D2. Nothing but my Ticcu's Divination, my Trinity Ghoul, and my chain reaction swords. Years ago in D1, rocket launchers were my main heavy and used nothing else unless I needed Raze Lighter or Bolt Caster.
-
I believe If you fire too quickly the projectiles, which have a physical object to them, collide and go boom in your face.

Lukrask, Kell of Pizza
*Your moist order has arrived* - old
Techincal explanation: Projectiles collide on something physical that was in their way, which can be scorn saw-shooting rifles, glimmer, some pieces of enemies like brigs' front panels, ammo crates and even other grenades. Funny explanation: Remember when Bugs Bunny used to shove a finger in Elmer's gun and it went kabblooomm? That's it. -

Bungie, that's why
-
I thought I was bugging when my heavy GL wouldn't shoot on the first trigger pull lol
-
Through the mysterious processes of 'space magick' TM, the grenade launcher round expands from 30mm to 1m the instant it leaves the end of the barrel, and immediately detonates on impact with the first dust mote it encounters. Probably Bungie's way of bugging the weapon archetype out so players stop using them. Nerf without actually nerfing.
-
Most likely a bug with how enemy projectiles are coded.
-
Time to stop using the grenade launchers. The enemies doing wild suicide dives is hilarious though.
