All the increased mechanics and quests all equate to one thing: more chores. The fun of the game is gone… no longer can u just slide into a strike and slay out, u have to perform tedious mechanic after mechanic and hope your teammates know what the blam they are doing or u sit there waiting for god.
Make destiny fun again bungie… please.
Or else I’ll probably be out for good. No time for anymore for blaming chores anymore. Bring back the joy of loot n shoot.let me slide back in with out needing to grind all the blaming time.

Merry Christmas to something that rhymes with you!

Everytime i read these "is no longer fun" posts in 2024 i think to myself, have i missed something or are these posts delayed from the past? The game hasnt been fun for years and years. Its been a glorified cash shop with some bad gameplay sprinkled in between for years now. Toxic elitists have been catered to, no proper qol and content for main game modes and the exclusive focus on monetization. The greed infested Bungie hasnt made any enjoyable content since witch queen. And even before that, we had massive garbage presented to us. 2018 was the last proper quality year for destiny. So yea the game is "no longer fun" was what past me told you back in 2020. Please just stop hoping for a better future for the game. Not even the devs dare to say it anymore these days. The best days are long gone, the ship sank, the car collection of a certain CEO grows strong and noone cares about destiny anymore. Its done for.

Small rooms with very little cover, flying enemies that evade your shots very well and disable your abilities, enemies hurling slow and scorch nades, lucent hive spamming blade barrage and throwing shields, massive area of effect explosioons at your feet constantly, snipers at the other side of the room with 100% accuracy, ogres eye blasting you against a wall with infinite range, modifiers like oscillation / haste / slow touch. This game is no longer to have fun and slay out with your powerful guardian you've spent thousands of hours 'leveling up', it's about always being weak and sweating through basic low level content for little to no meanigful rewards.

They’re taking the loot outta “looter shooter”

Edited by Joulevette12: 12/24/2024 1:49:12 AMEven though a lot of ppl hate Asmon he was right about what he said "If you Cater the top percent players don't be surprised if the they only ones left playing your game" Sadly it came true😰 I've been playing this game since beta, I've seen its ups and downs but man this game has gone down the wrong direction and I don't like it, this game used to be fun now they are just making things unnecessarily tedious after each expansions driving away current and new players by making bad decisions. This is no surprise though most of the devs that were laid off previously said this was gonna happen that they were focusing too much on the top percentage players and they need to scale things back and focus on bringing in new players because this is not sustainable. Frontiers most likely be the very first season I skip to see how things turn out because all I see from it is expectations until reality hits like this current seasonal model.

ehhh...what prevents you form goign in a strike and slay out ? you 100% still can they didnt turned strikes into raids
-
They nerfing Graviton soon. They always nerf fun for whatever reason. Also ive been using Grand Overture like 2 months ago and now the streamers are using it. It's a good weapon and I know that's getting nerfed too. Sigh 😔
-
They love listening to streamers on how this game should be look at it now complete dumpster fire I seriously cant remember the last time this game was fun
-
The game just got too old. We got all the good loot a LONG time ago. Now it’s just trying to constantly reinvent itself with limited resources. Should have stay with Activision. We’d be on Destiny 4 with the sickest graphics, gameplay, and integrated loot inventory by now.

Did you do all your playlist activities for the week? All your Raids and Dungeons? Seasonal Activities? OK sweetie. Here's your allowance of 1,000 Bright Dust for the week.
-
The game is too old so you all have finished playing all the contents ig (PVE) You already have all the god rolls from onslaught dungeons strikes etc. and all raid pattern unlocked so you basically have nothing new to do.

Edited by xBeAsTx: 12/23/2024 6:57:55 PM
...let me slide back in with out needing to grind all the blaming time.
You do realize that grinding has always been a core part of Destiny’s appeal, right? In fact, the grind is at an all-time low compared to what it used to be, and that’s arguably part of the problem. Players are handed rewards now instead of earning them, and as a result, they quickly run out of things to do. Destiny isn’t Call of Duty, where you can hop on, play a couple of matches, and log off satisfied. It’s a looter-shooter—grinding for loot is literally the point of the game. Honestly, I’m not sure what version of Destiny you think you were playing before, but it definitely wasn’t the one most of us remember.

Still waiting for the 'clean your room' mission to drop

Well said. It’s repetitive nothingness

Chores are way more fun than this game currently.
-
Been this way for a while now . Destiny is one of a kind but all good things must come to an end . Most have accepted but so many will struggle accepting and moving on .

Edited by UltraRage101: 12/23/2024 2:38:56 AMI agree, D2 is just doing chores anymore, it's not about the story anymore I remember back in D1 it didn't feel that way, and since the release of D2, D2 became a money factory even I spent my fair share in D2 and really, I just said to myself I'm not spending no more, I'm still playing but I haven't even thought about buying the new episodes, final shape was the finishing mark, and the new episode that was with the final shape was boring. I felt that I was a 3rd wheel in that episode which I never even felt like my character was needed in, the story has watered down a lot I even said this in post way back that the destination are uninteresting to explore public events are not worth the time the raids are too heavy in mechanics nobody want to do them plus eververse ruined destiny yeah the bugs and errors are a problem that will always be, but eververse took all that loot which could've been added to public events, lost sectors and not mention the XP throttling which I still think is in some part still happening.

It’s been that way since launch. I literally have under 100 strike completions. All I played was PvP but don’t anymore because sbmm and super small population and playing against lagging foreigners.
-
I still find it fun! There’s plenty of activities to choose from. I just choose what will entertain me for each play session and do it. Not that tough.🤷♀️
-
Only time I've played recently is solely just as something to do like on a Sunday and I don't have much else to do

Edited by Obelix: 12/22/2024 2:23:48 PMI still have fun. Last night I had a bit more time than usual so I decided to go on something more challenging and time demanding, using the Team Finder. I spent 50’ doing a Cooperative focus mission on the Pale Heart with 2 other guardians and I had a blast. No toxic behaviour, great team play as we figured out the mechanics as we went. We did the Ascent, where you have to pass around a curse regularly or you die, and just great collaboration all around. I wish all matches would be like that, it could have been luck, but there is still ways to have fun in the game if individually we try to be fun to be around.
