Hey,
After playing over 30 games in the past three days, I’ve noticed a potential issue with the competitive points system. I’ve been stuck between 8000 and 8200 points (Adept 2), consistently gaining or losing exactly 75 points per match, regardless of personal performance. As a solo player, the lobby balancing means I win about 50% of my matches, resulting in no real progress due to the flat points system.
While I understand the goal of balancing win rates, this approach leaves no room for upward movement unless you’re consistently outperforming. Occasionally, I do have games where I don’t perform well, but surely it’s not realistic to expect 100% efficiency at all times?
This wouldn’t be an issue if the system awarded 75 points for a win but only deducted 50 for a loss? there would at least be some progression with a 50% win rate and a 2.0 K/D. However, the slow matchmaking, often taking 8–15 minutes per game, combined with frequent mongoose error codes, makes it incredibly time-consuming to achieve no tangible results.
I’ve read that this could be linked to where my skill level is set, but I’m consistently maintaining around a 2.0 K/D daily. Surely I shouldn’t need a 3.0 K/D or a stacked team to climb to Ascendant? As a solo player, I’m usually the highest K/D and KDA player in my matches, yet the point system seems to penalise progression.
I’ve included my Destiny Tracker profile for reference, as I suspect I’m not the only one experiencing this issue. Would appreciate any insight or clarification on whether this is working as intended or if adjustments might be considered?
