Your biggest issue with the game.

I would love to know what peoples issue is with this game. Tell me your biggest issue, the number 1. Not multiple issues but the issue. There are no right or wrong answers here, just your opinion on what you think is bringing this game done. Your biggest issue can be a small thing or a major thing. Now remember, the issue that someone has with this game, is something that we should not make fun of.

  • Constant change for the sake of change, spending resources which has no impact on the actual game, or regresses the games performance. Often taking something that is in a good place, and changing it to something that looks different but does not solve the issues with it in any way. More recently, it was the HUD notification issue, there are still a LOT of issues with it, in that the prioritization of the buffs/perks is not right, and things are bumped off the screen which have importance to show something that has no relevance (like exotic armor buffs/charges for Verity Brow). My main gripe is vault space, and the collections system. Crafting and collections should work hand in hand, allowing you to reduce the burden on the vault. With no vault space, there is no incentive to play activities to earn RNG drops... everything should be working towards progressing the character/collections, but collections really has no purpose outside of static rolls now... let it provide the ability to re-attain weapons that you have dropped, and through a quest, craft the weapon. There have been so many weapons that I have never been able to get the roll that I wanted after YEARS of trying, and now the weapon is either not available, or the perk pool has changed and the roll I want is gone forever (goodbye my Surplus/Vorpal Vouchsafe that I was grinding for to play Mayhem).

  • Too many useless mini games. Onslaught. Battlegrounds. Etc.

  • The over reliance on FOMO over fun and innovative content to keep people engaged.

  • The removal of crafting. I have no reason to play any seasonal activity, because there are no red borders to chase. Any of the seasonal weapons that are dropping are not worth the time to chase, because I either have equal or better in the vault. The removal dropped my play time significantly.

    • One of mine is that the vendors rarely get a full refresh so they still have weapons from upto 3 years ago in their current lootpool. I took an 8 month break from Destiny until The Final Shape launched thinking that The Final Shape would have a full refresh for vendors but was really disappointed when I saw that it didn't(and we still haven't had one).

    • There is no attractive trait this game could bring to new players. I have seen what the 'New Light' quests do and they don't explain anything in any logical sense nor rhyme or rhythm, its all just go here and do this thing for this other thing but without explaining why nor will it guide people to actually learn anything. New Players don't need mixed up mumbo jumbo, they need a reason for why they are doing what they are doing. What they need is an all-in-one comprehensive guide for: Builds, Abilities, Weapons, Playlists, and a compressed story recap. This game is dying, sure you have some new players and just maybe a small amount that stay interested, but this game is losing players faster than it can bring new players in, and without any sense of direction after the New Light quests these new players are going to be lost as all hell. This is a small issue but it will never be addressed, and by the time it does, it won't matter. In time, Destiny will have become the next literal Destiny-Killer, ironic isn't it.

          • For starters it has more bugs than a beta test, anyone who got solo flawless in VH should get a special emblem for dealing the bs and completing it anyway. Activity caps have completely made the power grind useless to me, I used to grind pinnacle power every season, especially if there was a new dungeon so it would be easier to solo, now there’s no point. No crafting has also stopped me from playing also, I used to grind out all the patterns just in case a mid weapon became god tier after an update, now I don’t bother grinding weapons at all unless I really want it, so far that’s been one weapon this whole episode. Finally it’s getting pretty tiring watching management try to kill the game before Sony takes over and kicks them out.

          • The artificial chase vs the real chase. [b]Artificial chase[/b] > we will force a meta so you chase this weapon. We will unbalance PVP.. we will force your PVE loadout.. we will artificially create FOMO. This mentality is treating players as small children or pets.. go go go chase this now... no no now here... instead of: [b]Real chase[/b] > this is a good weapon.. we cooked up something good.. an activity we are proud to present you and a weapon you will keep around for many years. Its either something new.. offers something alil bit new or wacky or another option comparable..etc. We did not make it OP.. its an option you must decide if you want it. Note: If B is willing to provide the weapons I'm ok with retiring the older ones as needed.. but don't take my weapons (the reason I play this game) without over-delivering.

                • Cross play in pvp. ruined the game for me. before id spend hours upon hours grinding out a good weapon to use , but is pointless now if i'm being shot through walls and other dubious deaths. just let me play xbox players! (and no, turning off cross play doesnt help as it wont find a game unless others have turned it off too!)

                • My biggest issue with the game is the matchmaking in trials, I’ll get an entire team of people who have 300+ flawlesses while my team has a combined 2 and both are mine.

                    The lack of certainty regarding the future of the game. Bungie loves to preach about they intend to keep Destiny around for years to come, but they've barely talked about it. Aside from the names Apollo and Frontiers, what do we know about the future of the game? Nothing. Except what it won't include. They've said they won't do expansions anymore. They're dropping the Episodic formula after only one year. And I doubt they're willing to go back to the Seasonal Model. I get that we still have one more Season left to go, but Bungie really needs to talk about Apollo and Frontiers more to put our minds at ease regarding where the game is going.

                    • We beat the game in the final shape, and both the community and bungie know (they said it themselves) that episodes are filler. We also know that next year has no episodes, so the episodes are in a state of motivation limbo with okay-great but not amazing loot, and we all know this is meant to bridge a content gap more than ever. It also means that episodes will likely never be innovated on after heresy. That's the last one we're getting, and I'm not sold on if it will be good or not. The games biggest issue is that Apollo and its big changes aren't here soon enough.

                      [i]My issue is something that will split the community so first I have to adress that from my PoV. I consider this game to be a solo player game with some multiplayer elements. I say that because almost all of it could have been played offline and solo - had offline-play been an option. It's also evident, based on data from various population data sites, that the vast majority of game time, across the population, is spent in activities that were balanced for solo play. [/i] So with that out of the way, the thing that annoys me the most - and I consider a huge missed opportunity on Bungie's part - is how almost every longterm goal in this game relies on players to also participate in the multiplayer aspects of the game. It should have been so easy to separate the two - giving solo players something to work toward too. As of now I just completely ignore trophies, titles etc - there's simply no point in caring about them because unless I fold and join an active clan, which is not something I'm interested in doing - I'll only be able to complete 95-99 % of said things. And unless you get to 100 % there's usually no point in doing them at all. My view on this would have been different - and was different - in a proper MMORPG but this isnt one of those games. Those games have living worlds where you're constantly interacting or at the very least meeting other players. They typically also have good systems in place for communication. Destiny went in the opposite direction; It likes to think of itself as a MMO but seemingly went out of its' way to prevent players from organically interacting. Activies are instanced, areas have a really low population cap, there's no global chat, LFG and VoiP were afterthoughts and not in the game from start...the list goes on. It's basically Halo - but you get to occassionally see other people sometimes. Hell, I would argue that their Halo games had more of a community, because it had good PvP that incentivized people to build relations.

                      The new player experience and ease of getting into the game both monetarily and from a clarity standpoint. A lot of the problems right now could have been headed off by making the game easy to pick up, and some are basically unsolvable without enough players. I have other issues of course but I think a not insignificant portion of them eventually lead back to this one.

                    • The thing I complain about is something nobody has thoughts about for more than a few seconds (if that) so I am going to go ahead with "mongoose". It is irritating sitting in a queue (yes, I do Gambit) for nine minutes as the number slowly climbs to 8 only to be dropped a minute later when only one more player is needed. The easy fix is that the timer starts over when a new player is added or at the very least when only one more player is needed. Or they can let me decide how long I am prepared to sit in a queue for a match.
