I love this game.
I started playing Destiny back in September 2014. It was the same year I started making money for myself and I was able to buy my very own Xbox One. It was a special time in my life. Anyways, I remember playing Destiny and feeling completely enthralled, there was and hasn’t been anything like it. The gameplay, the loot, PVP, the grind, and my first Vault of Glass was something extraordinary at that time. I managed to play all the way through The Taken King expansion.
Then life happened.
I wouldn’t touch the game again until Destiny 2 Season of Defiance.
Now, I know I missed out on a lot, but when I came back it was almost an entirely new experience because there was so much to learn and new friends to be made. However, to my surprise I learned that the game was declining, I learned about sun-setting, and all the other drama that I hadn’t experienced since D2’s launch. Nonetheless, I was in love again and I continued to re-learn the game and all these new mechanics and immerse myself in new content. I honestly can’t say that I’ve felt the same level of joy and content I did with vanilla destiny for many reasons, but I still enjoyed it.
It’s my primary form of entertainment and escapism from life. It’s what I look forward to do when I finally have time to myself. I’ve made new friends whom I’ve met with in real life and I am part of this amazing clan full of wonderful people who are kind to one another and most likely feel the same way about this game as I do and have spent even more countless hours than I.
Bungie, Sony, or who ever else is seeking to understand and show empathy or reciprocate…
Firstly, thank you. I understand that creating a decade long experience must’ve been truly a wild roller coaster. I know what its like to be full of passion and creativity only to be handcuffed and subdued by the powers that be. Dedicating years of your life to one thing can become sour, and I am grateful for both the creators and players who have endured the test of time, to say the least.
I hope that regardless of the state this game is in, and this may be a pipe dream; that perhaps you will dedicate more resources to maintain Destiny 2.
Keep it alive, revive it! Innovate!!!
We are not simply players nor users, we are patrons. We are still willing to invest time and money if you agree to give Destiny the improvements and TLC it needs. You’ve got to be willing to acknowledge your patrons who love your product, and recognize that we will support you if you exceed the expectation rather than simply meeting it.
I’ll continue to play Destiny until the end, along with my clan and friends.
Sincerely,
Flex
