If you have been around since D1, you likely remember and miss being able to jump into strikes and get loot specific to that strike. Vex = Imago Loop or maybe the Theossian warlock gloves that were actually dope. Cabal = the cool scout or shield brothers with the insane chainsaw looking titan gloves, or maybe the cool af hunter cloaks from the psions. Then going back to the vendor and selecting weapons or armour for your rank rewards.... WHERE IS THIS BUNGIE???
Throw battleground in the trash where they belong, bring all the strikes back out of the vault, add some new faction specific loot, give vendors an upgrade, and save the vanguard playlist.
It's not hard, show the game some darn respect and your players might start having fun again.

There was a pretty valid specific reason why strike specific loot is not in D2. Its why they also discontinued it on Nightfalls. They would need to keep all that loot consistently updated in terms of perks otherwise they would quickly fall behind. But the main reason they said was simply to prevent people from leaving strikes, sure some people already leave strikes they don't like but its not as common as it would be if they want a drop from a specific strike and keep not getting that strike in the playlist. Even if the specific drop could be acquired from the launchable strike on the destination you'd be spreading the playerbase across a multitude of strikes instead of just consolidating them into a strike playlist. Its better to just add more loot to Vanguard and have rewards maybe be earned in different ways from just playing strikes in general.
