Same issue here...opened all the "Gift In Return" items, received a message postmaster completely out of space...visited postmaster to find four normal engrams, and all other spots filled with "0" value engrams. I could not open them. The engrams would also not load. I followed all the steps from the HELP FORUMS and the Bungie HELP areas. Nothing worked. So...based on the issues currently with Bungie...I deleted them assuming a chaulk up of lost engrams and time spent.
