It's sad to see what appears to be a huge decline in player numbers. Like many other players I have been playing the game almost from the beginning and have had a huge amount of fun along the way, but now the gimmicks and useless grind is wearing thin.
It would be rude if I told you what I really thought of Eva's holiday oven and I do not want to run round like a demented medievalist mixing tonics and potions. Bling and gimmicks are killing Destiny, the team needs to get back to its roots as a sci-fi based shooter with a great initial story line.
I will still play but it will be very restricted and I will not be upfront buying any more.

There is literally no one playing and this is Christmas. Imagine at first week of January...

The game should be able to survive a season of less content and so should the community without melting down. But here we are. It would be a mistake to say there aren't multiple things contributing to this. Even some from outside the game.

I'm tellin' ya, if they were to reintroduce the old campaigns and even seasons, they'd make BANK.

We’ll be able to play higher/lower the way things are going. With lower always winning. 😂

Edited by Link 1000000: 12/24/2024 10:39:26 PMNot enough mystery. To many things are explained, or they are so vague that no one knows it’s even there. I shouldn’t have to watch a lore video on it know it exist. The dreaming city on release was amazing. The soundtrack the portals and the reef. Felt mysterious. Same with the dreadnaught and the moon. Also to much grind for loot that isn’t any good. They make dungeons and raids, that have some of the worst weapons in the game. Totally useless. The vespers host dungeon had a good heavy grenade launcher and denial grenade launcher. Then an auto. The fusion is garbage. Salvations edge. Amazing pulse, amazing bow. Bad sword, a glaive and a ok smg. Kings fall. Great hand cannon and scout. Machine gun, fusion and sniper all all mid. Then you have vow, there’s forbearance and the fusion. Everything else from it is useless. The smg has some use. To many pieces of hard content where 2 weapons shine and the rest are so bad you go I didn’t want that at all.

I think they need to diversify the grind from just weapons rolls. The power chase and constantly changing meta have been on people’s nerves. I’d like more option to grind for cosmetics as well, unique shaders, ships, ornaments… why not expand the role of the ship to allow for more customization visually. They need not reinvent the wheel, just look at what works in other MMO. A year or so ago TESO introduced companions, at every new chapter you get a new companion with skills, visuals, story… sure Destiny ain’t ESO, but that’s just an example of how they have introduced a new mechanic to entice people to play and grind that’s more engaging than just gear.

Honestly at this point I don't know if they could even do that anymore, they seem to have lost the ability along the way and the only thing holding it together is the gameplay that has been there from the beginning. I truly do not know if they could make something as good as they have before and at this point I would be overly critical of anything they come out with in the future, whether it's Marathon or a sequel to Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 mommy. - old
Nobody is sure if there is even hope for the future of the game. Players are still playing but slowly decaying as we either grind or speak with others. I'd hate to see this franchise give way. The memories i had here are too precious to let fade
