I baked 302 cookies……the analysis and results are here
And it’s not looking good Bungie!
Had a little time today after Christmas, so did all 302 cookies with repeatable bounties. Below will show character, cookies baked, and gifts in return

1 ReplyBeen running exclusively for emblems for over 2 weeks now. Using the vendors we're supposed to be using. Gotten -1- emblem to drop in all that time and I play dang near all day. Not even my own Vanguard. I'm beyond irritated.

This also relates back to the outrage over loss of crafting. Making new meaningless systems like tonics to add to a game with terrible reward structures and then removing crafting….. Man I can’t imagine why they have no players left. Can you imagine how much all this bad faith from gamers will impact their release of Marathon? Who is going to pay these developers in advance for content?

1 ReplyYeah, looks about right, got 1 gift for every 5-6 cookies handed in. This is outrageously bad considering how much essence you have to grind for this. Tbh I just can't fathom how this is considered acceptable practice. Onslaught should have shown them that rewarding grind will be grinded. This isn't rewarding and people just don't want to engage with this kind of activities anymore.

1 ReplyI think 1/5 is fine IF we get like 3x more essence to drop. If essence drop remains as is, I think the drop rate should be closer to 1/2 or 1/3. You get FAR less weapons than festival for the drops to be as scant as is.

Happy holidays. 1 in 5 gift in retro.is average. Boons of friendship with playlists helps to a point for gift drops. Dawning emblem drops means no weapon focus.due to unwritten mechanics . Emblem drop improves near en of week. At least that is what Bungie stated in TWAB.

Yeah, thats about right - 1 in 5 for my deliveries too. This is the first dawning where I have just played the game and done dawning chores as an afterthought. Which is really strange as the whole idea of an event is surely to do event stuff primarily? I remember the good ole days of proper event activities rewarding event currency.

I just happened to be paying attention after a match and saw that I had gotten a gift. Then I went to my inventory and saw that I had a bunch of them. I opened about 10 of them and was like, "I'll do the rest later." Edit: I just checked. I have 37 left to open. You got 59 from all that work. I got around 50 from just playing (and not even realizing it at first).

11 Replieswell 1st I gotta give you 2 points... before taking away 17. 1. thx for tracking data 2. 1st one to actually say I used repeatable bounties -17pts > playlists drop boxes.. I get 1-2 boxes every so often in a playlist.. and one or even 2 times got 4. In Control.. say what you want about us PVPr's tryin to gun each other down... we still show holiday love with those daily boons as well... then we shoot you down. So basically I play control (yes I choose to do it) and earn spirit and essence playing it.. boxes drop.. and then I take a break and go open the box.. while I earned engrams and enhancement cores in the playlist. I can in addition take on bounties to do 5 deliveries and then go back in the list repeat cycle... folks who farm Shiro Chi.. shattered throne.. grasp of avarice..etc for nothing else?? stop farming mindless crap.. do what you want to do (chase multiple things at the same time at least) and if the game doesn't deliver in fun for you... absolutely don't do that thing. There is no one weapon that is exclusively worth your time.. but as a whole.. as a natural add-on to what you wanna do... you can have fun.

2 RepliesIts just so that it keeps you grinding over these contentless holidays, otherwise you would quickly get weapons you want and be done with it, this way they keep you spending time for a hope you will finally get that avalanche with dragonfly / incandescent or whatever you really want to get. I must have spent about 15-20 gifts in return for avalanche and still didn’t get the combination of perks that I wanted,

6 RepliesConsidering you get other rewards every time you deliver a cookie & the fact that you also get gifts from playlist activities & friendship tokens, I'm having a hard time seeing what's wrong with a 20% drop rate.

I'm right at about 20% as well, with 42 Gifts in Return. Another question: how much Dawning Spirit did you get? Because after all that, I only have 772, which is not enough to target farm with all 42 Gifts in Return (25 dawning spirit per turn-in would require 1,050 Dawning Spirit) so I might as well only have earned 30 Gifts in Return. Granted, I didn't do ALL the bounties EVERY DAY, but I did have my Starfarer equipped; my point being that there's a double bottleneck, Gifts and Essence.
