Thought on PVE Stay Frosty (Rimestealer + Headstone)?
For those who have the above roll of Stay Frosty and tried it out.. I must be missing something.. it seems very weak? [i](I have had 4 drop and deleted 1 so far.. I have tac mag versions and flared magwell.. reload mw..etc)[/i]
I think the only thing that makes it semi-usable is the [b]artifact perk WIND CHILL[/b]

The issue I think is twofold:
--1. shots feel pretty weak in PVE (will the upcoming buff address this?)
--2. frost armor is not great.. for example void overshield is strong protection but even frost x5 doesn't seem that powerful
Note: I've only tested it a few times at Sorrow's Harbor but nothing is very strong there.. I like my Live Fire with this trait better as it has access to armor piercing rounds.. you shoot from afar with a scout.. and the DR from Frost Armor feels more effective for those glancing blows.
What are your thoughts??... must this roll be buildcrafted into to make good use of it? (not touching stasis warlock class myself...)

Deleted my rimestealer headstone roll because it has no damage perk and headstone is a crap splash perk. Rimestealer desperate measures on mask of fealty is 100% better. -
It’s a good pulse with those traits. I prefer disparity with headstone and rapid hit crafted

Set it up with Kill Clip and Kinetic Tremors. You won’t look back, ever.

2 RepliesI don't have any reason to use it over an alternative option that has Incandescent so it's not something I'm actively chasing. Make it better than Incandescent or Jolting Feedback and maybe we can talk.

6 RepliesYou're not missing anything, imo anyway. I've mostly received bad perks/traits but did get a arrowhead break, lone wolf, headseeker/kill clip, range masterwork. I also got a rimestealer, headstone. Very disappointed in both and a bit upset it took so long to get them but have only 1 pvp kill. I took the rimestealer, headstone into a night fall but switched to something else after 17 kills. It was taking way to long to kill anything. I'm hoping the much hyped buff coming soon changes things but have my doubts.

The weapon is pretty weak. The headstone rimestealer is way overrated, especially when the artifact is gone. Lightweight Pulse are not that great outside of BXR, Chattering Bone and Outbreak.

As soon as headstone’s damage drops off or enemies aren’t as clustered, the weapon’s staying power does too. Frost Armor is strong but not broken. It’s easily refreshable, has a moderate timer, and provides DR on all of your health. Void Overshields give you high DR but only on the shield itself. Woven Mail has low uptime post nerf outside of specific builds. It has a place. It shines in content with very large amounts of weaker ads like normal onslaught runs. Where you can get headstone crystals frequently and they kill multiple ads, but the DR still has value. This combo, like incandescent weapons or repulsor brace, falls off very quickly when content gets more difficult.

No, you’re correct. For now, try surge mods and/or Radiant to help with its weak damage and hopefully the upcoming changes help it perform better in PvE.

1 ReplyIma be honest, if you really REALLY want a weapon with this roll (which ima admit is very underwhelming), just use this season’s ritual weapon. I wouldn’t waste my Dawning gifts on this weapon. Go chase the Minstrel Lift or any of the other weapons. Unless you’re going for both a PvE and a PvP Stay Frosty of course.

1 Replyi got that roll (headstone/rimestealer) and tried it out. and remembered why i hate headstone with a passion. you can proc the headstone ice crystal with a headshot easily. then waste the rest of your mag trying to break said crystal. when it would've just been easier and used less ammo to just shoot the enemies. the only time it's helpful is if you can proc it off a low level enemy while a yellow bar is extremely closeby. but it never seems to work for me. the frost armor doesn't really feel like it does much. i don't use stasis class that much, so i don't really build into it though. i threw it in the vault (just in case). but for bounties requiring stasis, i have just been using an encore/frenzy roll. once you get frenzy proc'd , it's not too bad.

2 RepliesIn the pulse rifle yes agree 100% The handcannon is pretty good i really like that combo. Frost armor can go up to 8 btw. Is it op? Absolutely not. Specially end game, there are better gun options. Personally i use the gun to break the crystals i create to get both frost armor+faster ability regen. Then use icebreaker to make everything go boom. 💥

5 RepliesIt's very niche if applicable at all. . [b]BUT[/b] it was never the roll I chased. I went after [i]Enlightened Action+Frenzy[/i] & got it. Again, I don't see relevance beyond this [b]Season[/b] (Artifact), but it's not a bad feeling weapon. Ran it through some[i] Master Lost Sectors[/i]. Did fine, but it's still weak ([i]like all primaries[/i]). That said it feels good. Snappy & quick on target. Smooth ADS. Imma fan as far as Primaries are concerned, I just don't know when or if it makes into my [b]GM loadouts[/b]. We're so stacked with [i]Ability Spam & Special Weapons[/i], I just don't see a universe were [i]Primaries[/i] are ever relevant again.

3 RepliesI think to get its full potential you need to have the right build. Like incandescent and firefly, they feel better with a full solar build that buff scorch and ignition.

2 RepliesIMO, RS/HS is only really viable on pure Stasis builds. It's decent there due to synergy, but anything else it's just an average perk combo IMO.

7 RepliesIt’s overrated. Firstly the lightweight pulse frame is the third (or fourth) best damage archetype for pulses. The heavy burst and rapid fire frames have better damage and there are some great options there. If you want a rime stealer and headstone pulse then yes this is your only option but I don’t think it’s powerful.
